First of all, if you had read my post, you'd see I clearly wrote borderline intellectual functioning, and also at times lower range of normal intellectual function. This means men with IQ's lower than 90. These men do look for young, guileless woman. They can't attract women their own age, they truly can't. Frankly, it's often why they become sexual offenders, as young girls are who they feel equal to. My statements are based on working with these folks in the mental health and criminal justice system for over ten years. Thank you so much for clarifying where you gained your knowledge from to have this opinion!!! I'm so grateful that those of us that have MUCH higher intelligence, and have the desire to possibly have younger women as friends, are not a part of that group. I hope that was said OK..... |

I am only being as argumentative as you are. You say your opinion is based on the mentally unstable and sexual offenders. That might be your day-to-day reality, but it's not the overall reality of the world we live in. The probalem I have is with your generalizations of all people.
Your original post was a reply to a gentleman who said he wants to date someone younger. There was no mention of someone who is mentally unstable or handicapped. You now are trying to say your comments were only aimed at those with IQs under 90, but that wasn't the context of your original post. You were generalizing all men who date younger women as people of low intelligence who want someone with less experience. That is what I take issue with. If you are going to go off on a completely different topic (i.e. discussing the mentally ill instead of the normal guy who dates younger), then start a new thread. What you are saying now sounds like back-peddling to me. |

Mag~In all honesty, my original post was a joking jab at the OP, in that he had to be stupid to want to go out with a child. Yes, I got you clearly. No worries! Funny how what I wrote got so wildly taken out of context. BTW, the average IQ is 90-110. For Ohio stats, the IQ of the average incarcerated man is 80. Take that for what it's worth. Arguing girl~ I'm quickly bored and tired of your insinuations about what you think I meant now and what you think I meant before, and all of what else you assumed you think I meant. I really don't care. I'm no longer assuaging your lack of apparent objectivity. Really. Grow up. |

the post gave the impression that you felt that
ALL large age difference relationships were based on this pathology but now i see where you are coming from... i'm sure that this is the case in some instances also like the teacher pregnant from her minor student for example... but well - these are sick puppies. i'm also sure that in most instances it is purely who you find mutually attractive on an emotional, intellectual, and physical level regardless of age. which is what troublemakers like me might point out 
of course anyone who would waste their time on online dating forums like this has got to have some screws loose too...
but that's a WHOLE other thread...

I can attest to the fact that mental health workers are full of chit, yes all of them, without exception, they love to give pills and have groups, 
Ha! Not this one. I work for the courts, not a treatment provider.
And I don't work with doctors who can even prescribe pills....  They are the PhD kind, not MD kind....

All you do is provie my points for me... So thanks. His age range did not include children, and you just said exactly what I was trying to prove-- Your insinuation is that all people who date much younger than themselves are stupid. I believe it is you who needs to grow up. |

However, those with lower IQ's are sometimes classified as mentally disabled. Undeservedly so, and to the detriment of all. I really did not mean to go off topic. I simply think 18 year olds are children and meant to date others close to their age. As we grow and become mature, that difference matters less, even just a few years later. |
