I have no problem with showing my softer side to women once they have earned my trust. Like rara says, I know I'm a man. Part of being a man is not being afraid of who you are, it took me many years to learn this.
It's worth mentioning also that a lot of the so called "tough guys" who are afraid to show emotion are 160 pound guys who think they're Superman when they get a six-pack in them. I'm a big guy and being a biker I know a lot of big guys. Most of them are respectful and appreciative to their ladies, loving to their kids and harsh as hell to anyone who needs them to be.

This is not true for me....I hide nothing....I do have an 'edge' too & I don't hide that either.....And I have a strong commitment to integrity & values.....the 'hard' part is not me showing my softer side....its more like letting someone enter into my heart that i find difficult....

Also, I show my softer side in the afterglow. For about 10 minutesl. Then it's time for round 2.

Mirror, this one gets complicated. There are many contributing factors at play.

Men are taught from a young age that showing feelings is a sign of weakness. Strength is one thing a real man cannot hedge on, by the teachings they recieve.

Also men are taught that women are dangerous and will hurt them if given the chance. Ladies of this calibre do not help this one at all.

These are the two main ones I can think of right now. I am tired and brain dead right now.

Because of the social stigma that Men are supposed to be tough and can take anything. Which is ridiculous. I believe that if a man cant show that side they have no heart.

Because they are afraid we will SUCK THEIR BRAINS OUT and they will become women!!!

In my experience, the truly perceptive ones -- all 2 of them -- have had absolutely no trouble finding the softer side.
