Topic: Believe Or Know? | |
---|---|
I used to work a lot of overtime where I worked because I believed I was making a difference. But today I was asked, "You wouldn't want to come in on your day off would you?" I was amazed. How did she know I wouldn't want to come in? The only thing I can figure out is that she works the same place I do and enjoys her days off, too. Are there some things you believe and other things that you just know?

I hear ya, 62easygoing. My Atheist friend and I both know now if we keep working our days off that we are just enabling some slackers that are just trying to take advantage of the system. In my spiritual program we call it enabling bad behavior and in my own religious upbringing we call it that we all have our own cross to bear. It reminds me of an old gospel song: "You got to walk that lonesome valley. Can't nobody walk it for you you. You got to walk it by yourself."

Thanks, Gypsy. I was really impressed that the nurse gave me a choice. It meant a lot to me. She said she was just going down the list of names to cover for a person who misses a lot. I didn't feel guilty for saying no I didn't want to come in. I really liked it that the nurse treated me me with respect.
