So my divorce is almost complete and as it is getting closer I feel like Im getting a little bummed out. There is no way I would ever get back with her and we have been apart for two years. But we were together for 13 years and we have a little girl its just kind of feels like the finality of the end is a little overwhelming. So anyone go thru this before or have any advice? Thanks.

It's hard, there are plenty of us that have been there, but all I can offer is that it does get better and time does help.

Yep, mine was final in September. I also would never get back with her but there was a short perion where I was bummed cause the family was broken up. I guess its natural, it passed after a couple of days. Just make sure your little girl knows she will always be number one in your life.

I am going through the samething but I think im over the man but not over the fact that my family had to suffer and be dismantled that is the part that sucks.............for me.............but I know that it can be hard but you will overcome it and think of the new step in your life now you at least know what you dont like.............i have learned to weed out the loosers so quick and be around people who really care about me and my needs................just take it one day at a time............time heals all wounds as they say........flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

You were together 13 years...Theres alot of history...It'll take time...Just enjoy the daughter that the two of you share...Remember she loves you both...Let that lead you...

Was with her 20 years and two boys. It's been a year now and I still get bummed about it. It's getting better tho and my friends have helped me out tremendously!

Nice to hear others say what I'm often feeling ... I don't miss the relationship and know it couldn't last, but there's a sense of loss - and guilt over how it affects the kids. I hope it lessens with time, but I think I'd be more concerned if I didn't feel conflicted ... ending a marriage is a serious thing and my pain tells me that I was invested in the union and I did want to make it work.

Been ten years almost since my last divorce. The boy and girl still love me. Got to see my grand daughter weekend before last. My ex mother-in-law asked my thirty year old son why he didn't bring my 6 year old grand daughter to come see her. He answered, "Because we are still afraid of you."laugh Kids still say darnest things. Even if they old to have kids themselves. laugh
