specifically to spidey, and to whomever felt offended by my comments.
However, I think that I need to state the reasons of my comments.

First:
My position won't move not even an inch with regard to the fact that I think that we all are God's children regardless the fact people are christian or not. Or if they believe in God or not. Daddy created all of us, therefore it follows we are all His children. Furthermore, it's my duty to love all regardless, that is my Lord's command. I will be a bigot if I don't do so.
Since a little child I have been educated that way, as I have grew older through the example of wise men (such as Father Hugo) that belief has grown stronger.
I understand that my behavior sometimes does not reflect this, but what am I? Just a miserable man with a lot of sin in me, and that is reflected in my attitudes sometimes. I beg to my Lord to come into my heart, and change it. So I can become more like Him.
I get angry sometimes because as I say a lot of times christianity is used as an instrument to preach hate which as I said before I won't ever agree. Thus, I always will be against the action of using christianity to condemn others, yet not against those who do it.

SECOND:
The barrier language sometimes I use some words that probably are derogatory in English and I don't even know.
An instance is "fundie" I didn't even know that word until Abra posted it in a thread. But it sounded better than fundamentalist to me. Furthermore, it's shorter than fundamentalist, so it's easier when I have to write long statements.
So here my only sin was ignorance of the English usage.
So if at any time I sound offensive or derogatory just think about me as hispanic guy who barely spits a couple of words in English.

As a conclusion my position stands, and I will keep defending it because that is what I truely belive. However, I will try to be wiser whenever I have to choose my words.

Very truely yours,

I don't think you owe anyone an apology Miguel.

All you did is voice your opinion and beliefs, which you retain and support. There's no need to apologize to anyone for that.

To shorten Fundamentalist to "Fundie" should not insult anyone. It's just a common abbreviation and not meant to be derogatory. There's no insult in reducing a word for the sake of brevity. It doesn't change the meaning of the word to abbreviate it.

Besides, Spider's objection in that thread was the idea that you were 'blanketing' all fundamentalists by suggesting that they all believe a certain way.

It doesn't really matter, because in the end, Spider was indeed in disagreement with your quote above. He vehemently posted that his position is supported by Jesus and yours isn't and he posted scripture to back up his claims.

Personally, I don't buy into that tactic. I personally believe that scripture can be posted to back up almost any claim a person wants to make. The Bible says one thing on one page and the complete opposite on the next, so you can always find a verse to back up any opinion.

I'm in total agreement with your view of what Jesus meant overall. flowerforyou

I also agree that we are all children of God and anyone who denounces that isn't worthy of an apology. bigsmile

what kind of world has been promoted when words are declared off limits?

one where all the crap of each one is left buried inside, to fester and hide, and what lay on top of love, trapping it inside, must be spoken, to allow the love to bust out and never die..........peace miguel and spider

Sorry to disapoint you tin_man.

My comments were quite sincere.

I think David often posts some of the greatest wisdom on the forum and he does it very poetically. In a very natural spiritual way.

To be perfectly honest about it I often feel that his words may very well be divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. I look forward to reading his posts.

Moreover, why would I want to artifically praise him? What would be my incentive to do that? Does he have chocolate hidden somewhere?

If he does, I swear I didn't know. flowerforyou

A-bra, you don't need to worry about disappointing me. I find your BS to be very humorous. Kind of like watching paint peel . Unfortunately it is like a broken record and someone needs to smack the record player to get to something new. flowerforyou You have found his hidden chocolate.

You're basically accusing me of being insincere with Davidben.

Why would I do such a thing?

Do you even have an imaginary motive?

My words were quite sincere.

I have no clue why you would question my sincerety to begin with.

It was a personal comment to David. I wouldn't have made the comment if it wasn't my true feelings. flowerforyou

I was speaking of your previous posting as BS, not your current "sincere" rear smooching. You regularly disagree with people's posted "true feelings" so you should have no problem. Do you find that you have been accusing others of being insincere?

With all due repect, the only answer I have for you is that you must be percieving my posts incorrectly.

Perhaps you have preconcieved picture in your mind of what you expect I am like and you are using that figment of your imagination to block any true perceptions of me.

Or maybe you just don't like my views on religion and philosophy. flowerforyou

You may also be confusing my lack of respect for Spider as a religious authority with my feelings toward him as a person. I can understand that misconception. And I sympaththize with it wholeheartedly.

Same thing may be true of other people who post religious statements of authorty, or who claim to be preparing to do "battle" in the name of God.

The whole war-mongering attitude of Mediterranean religions is one of the things that convinces me that they are ungodly and unhealthy to humanity in the first place.

Where's the love?

I see more love coming from people like Davidben, than I see coming from Christian fundamentalists.

In fact, I seem more love coming from The Lonely Walker than I see coming from many other so-called "Chrisitans" who often question his interpretations of the religion.

All he's trying to do is preach brotherly love. What's wrong with that?

TLW,

I'm going to assume you were trying to be sincere and heartfelt with your post.

Let me clarify some things, so that we can get this all out on the table.

Do you believe that because I only consider Christians who be the children of God, that I am a biggot or that I condemn others?

Spider asked:

I don't know why you would only consider Christians to be the "children of God."

If you do think this way I would wonder why, especially if you believe that God created us all.

Is this another case of a Christian that believes Christianity owns God? If so, then any tolerance of other beliefs and /or religions is just phony and not really sincere.

TLW,

I'm going to assume you were trying to be sincere and heartfelt with your post.

Let me clarify some things, so that we can get this all out on the table.

Do you believe that because I only consider Christians who be the children of God, that I am a biggot or that I condemn others?

In true honesty, yes. Please don't take this as insult because if you do so, we will get started all over again. I won't fall for this back and forth again.
Because everyone of us is God's creature. He created us. Therefore, we are His children.
So casting others out because they are not christians, it is condemning them. Consider oneself superior than others because they are not christian is bigotry.
In my Lord's days the Samaritan were considered dogs by the Jews, yet my Lord show no preferences between jews and samaritans.
When the centurion came to my Lord, my Lord did not told him I won't help you because you are a pagan. My Lord went and heal the centurion's daughter.
The biggest proof of this is when my Lord was in the cross and He told to God: "Father forgive them because they don't know what they are doing."
Basically, that is my attitude.
OK, I'm honestly tired. My apology explained what I believe, and that should've sufficed, but apparently it didn't.
This is my last statement with regard this issue, and I give you my word of honor that no matter what you respond to this I will not say anything further. I'm really exhausted of this.

TO TLW:

I'm not only going to say no apology necessary, but give you a quote.

Never apologize, your friends won't need one, and your enemies won't care.

On a sidebar, Spider, who starts a debate at an apology? The man was apolgizing for what he perceived as being offensive, and you get offended? Man, you're harsh.
