You seem to be going through a lot of the same things I went through Miguel. Seriously. I tried to cling to Christianity, but I found that I had to defend it more from Christians than from anyone else!

I finally gave up and left.

I want no parts of religion that I have to defend from people who are supposed to be of the same religion.

Like you, even when I was a Christian I wasn't about to accept fundamentalist bigotry. That isn't what Jesus stood for in my eyes. Yet that's what you must defend against just to try to salvage the religion from your supposed peers.

For a man who insists none of the Bible should be taken literally, he certain is dedicated to taking my words literally. TLW is taking my email the wrong way, intentionally. The environment here is too hostile, I'm not strong enough to not respond in kind more often than I like. TLW made attacks on Fundamentalism, so I responded with attacks on Catholocism. Now it's escalated out of hand, like I expected. The whole situation is unfortunate and necessary. I'm going to fade away from this website, I just don't fit in.
