All-in-all, your belligerant version of your religion is the epitome of why I think it is a dangerous thing to humanity as a whole.  That attitude is why I worry for my Christian brothers and sisters. Why? You allegedly have god on your side .. Im a god-less atheist. For seven years, Christians will suffer the full hatred and bigotry of the world. Step by step, the world becomes more convinced that Christians are dangerous. Already, Christians are freely compared to terrorists, as if there is a valid comparison against someone saying "That is a sin" and blowing yourself up to kill women and children. |

I was answering your question "Why?". I get seven years from the period of the tribulation. Generalizations are dangerous, that is exactly what will bring down so much hate onto Christians. A couple idiots bomb abortion clinics and Christians are still carrying that insult around. It's hard to talk about the dangers of Radical Islam without someone bringing up abortion clinic bombers. Generalizations are dangerous, that is exactly what will bring down so much hate onto Christians. A couple idiots bomb abortion clinics and Christians are still carrying that insult around. It's hard to talk about the dangers of Radical Islam without someone bringing up abortion clinic bombers. By generalizing a couple nut jobs who committed actions which are clearly against Christianity, all Christians are made to look like bad guys. Its difficult to bring up the dangers of radical religion - period. The only place to do that would be in the company of non-believers. We are all against the loss of sentient human life in the name of religion (I hope) I look at the people around me and three years ago, here, where I live, a bomb exploded about half a mile away. People still remember. The death toll was in its 30s. The targets - the holidaying Israelis. The majority of the dead were Egyptians. Then Europeans, then one Israeli. So violent actions are unjustifiable in any course, but particularly disgusting in the name of religion. Its a throw away light, fluffy comment, but its all about who has the biggest imaginary friend. But if you want to talk radical islam, then Im happy to do so, as long as the rejoinders about the comparisons with christianity wont spark a heated row. |

You rarely see a fair comparison, because you are so "into" your religion, whereas I look at all religions in the same way. You are a non-believer as well as me, its just I believe in one less religion than you. |

in order to try to prove my evil behavior (as far as he is concern) as far as I see a vast majority has shown that this an utterly childish behavior. I just don't understand where among all my threats have I insulted spidey? If I use the term fundie (which seems to be derogatory) is just to save time and space because fundamentalist is a way too long word. But my intention is never to insult anybody. |

just because I have a belief, and I know my belief is absolutely truth for me, am I allowed to declare war to others who don't believe as me? and tell them that they will get bloody if they don't think as I do? My God I don't want to join that faith at all. Did you think about that before you joined? Or did you discover this after you joined? You seem to be going through a lot of the same things I went through Miguel. Seriously. I tried to cling to Christianity, but I found that I had to defend it more from Christians than from anyone else! I finally gave up and left. I want no parts of religion that I have to defend from people who are supposed to be of the same religion. Like you, even when I was a Christian I wasn't about to accept fundamentalist bigotry. That isn't what Jesus stood for in my eyes. Yet that's what you must defend against just to try to salvage the religion from your supposed peers.  I started seeing this stupidity since I came to this country. In my back home things were way easier. I mean there are denominations also there, but each one to his/her own. But here everything becomes a battle. But i differ with you James, this struggle makes me stronger, my faith in my Lord Jesus Christ grows stronger. This situations push me to study more to become more knowlegable, so I remain where I stand. |

TLW, You broached the subject, I thought it would be better for people to know the full contents of the email rather than just a little snippet and the implication that you were threatened with physical violence. I don't think your behavior was evil, but I think it's wrong to throw out a statement which could be so easily misunderstood. It's also wrong to bash another Christian, which I am equally guilty of doing. Catholicism has done great things in this world and they are under assault from the same powers as all other Christians. Jesus said that we would struggle with our earthly brothers and sisters, but surely didn't intend for us to struggle with our spiritual brothers and sisters. I am sorry for everything that I said which hurt your feelings. I believe that you didn't mean to offend anyone, I should have asked you in private before I got angry. I realize that you are on the path you walk and you aren't aware of how your words can be perceived by others. I hope you are having a good Saturday, enjoy mass tomorrow. |

My email to TLW, for those of you wondering. Miquel, I'm very disappointed that you couldn't take my comments to heart. You don't like my take on the Bible, I don't like yours either. I'm tied to this earth enough that I'm going to respond in kind. There is going to be very hard feelings between us. I assure you this isn't what I wanted, go back and see that I asked you not to do this. But if you want to fight, you are going to get bloody. What will you end up with? What? Will you feel better about yourself? Will you go to bed thinking "SpiderCMB won't be in heaven, but Abra will"? It's disgusting how you belittle other Christians to sidle up to people who hate Jesus and God. I really don't understand it. The environment here is too hostile, I'm not strong enough to not respond in kind more often than I like. TLW made attacks on Fundamentalism, so I responded with attacks on Catholocism. Now it's escalated out of hand, like I expected. The whole situation is unfortunate and necessary. I'm going to fade away from this website, I just don't fit in. who here has been wounded by hands? who here has not expelled what is in the mind, which allow the heart to come forth? every heart is full of love, but the percieved "evil" words from the mind keep it covered up.......... allowing things to be expelled is the greatest privelage any friend bestows upon anohter....... so it seems you both have stepped up to the plate, as neither wants to hate the other, and shows true friendship, lol..... so only good has happened here, and as always, good and love is hidden in what appears to be ****, lol..... peace |
