I am new to the site, about a week now..I have noticed a lot of people put everything and the kitchen sink in there pic profiles except THEIR PIC?? Why?? I know this topic has probably been beat to death like a dead horse but I am just curious how anyone thinks someone will go on a date with someone that won't even show who they are... If you are insecure so what someone will always find you attractive in some shape or form so don't hide behind stupid picks... OK I am stepping down off my soap box and running for cover!!   Run, run for the hills My default pic is for fun, have pic on my profile  I should have been more clear in my original post I meant people who have nothing but pics of thing that aren't them... If you have a pic of yourself in your profile then you are not who I am talking about..  Not posting pics prevents people from window shopping  makes a person have to contact if curious or interested. True to a point, but IMO if there is not some kind of physical attraction I doubt things will ever workout... |

True, i would like to think most are, but at the same time and i will always say this when a topic like this comes up. Lets say you don't have a pic and you spend all this time talking to someone by email,phone ect. And you starting to like this person alot as they do with you. Couple moths go by and you deside to meet. Min you, you might of seen them but they haven't seen you yet. So you set it up and you go to meet. What happens after all the time and energy you put into geting to know this person and your all excited that you see them, BUT THERE NOT? because there not attracted to you. Now what????? |

I usually have my photo up, but I do take it down from time to time when I just want to keep a 'low profile', ie. I want to enjoy the forums, chat with my friends, etc. but don't necessarily want to draw attention to myself.
Not having a photo up definitely limits the amount of mail I get, but sometimes the mail I (or others, I'm sure) get based just on people viewing the photo (and not necessarily reading the profile) isn't all that appetizing anyway. You all know the ones I'm talking about, the 'hi ur soooo hot!!!' or 'ru interested in discreet fun?' ones ... yeah, those I can live without. If someone does take the time to email without ever seeing a photo, I take it to mean my words have impacted them somehow and they're genuinely interested in getting to know me - which is pretty cool ... and I'm always more than willing to provide a photo when asked. |

I wasn't saying she could be as dumb as a box of rocks but if shes hot, all right then!! No, that's not how I roll, but I must be attracted to her eyes, smiles, butt, etc. hehe.. Besides her intelligence.. Caring and honesty and loving are the things most important to me...I don't need to have a beauty queen as a girlfriend/wife but I do need to have a honest caring loving women who I am attracted to.. |
