Mean people don't suck, they're just HURT.

I'll always opt for kindness for as long as I can.

A fringe benefit is that for the Ogres who just won't cheer up....it really pisses them off. It's a bit like handling an obnoxious customer.....smile outside, laugh your ass off inside knowing they can't tell a supervisor how livid they are that you are cheery.

Hey Beach.... aren't you sweet. I have to counter that sociopaths and psychopaths don't have feelings. So, they aren't hurt, they're just mad if things don't go their way.

and they take it out on you...what do you do?

I had this happen, and usually I give them a time out... however apparently that makes me a sociopathic b*tch...

How far do you let people go to disrespect you when THEY have issues?

You don't. Step away from the friend.

Like I've taught my girls for instance. Just becuz YOU have PMS doesn't mean you have a license to take it out on everyone around you. Put yourself in time out when you are being the biatch.

Wow. Now I wanna meet this guy!

No, you don't. He has ficticious romances with people. If you talk to him, Lily's ex friend, you will all of a sudden become his girlfriend. I've heard enough about him from her... but still sometimes my mouth just hangs open. It is shocking.
Wow, he sounds like a total wacko. I changed my mind - I don't want to meet him. He sounds scary..I don't want to have to be someone's girlfriend just because I talk to him.

Are you guys making this up?

I always try to use laughter to change their mood, once they can laugh at themself they usually come out of the bad mood.laugh laugh

I walk away.who needs the drama and some folks should be loved from a distance period.
Usually close friends I just ask why they have a bee in their bum or simply let them rant till they feel better.

When it's a female friend I ALWAYS ask..."Are you PMSing?" Luckily, my friends know that is the indicator that they are on 'b*tch mode' and I didn't feel like dealing with it. We have that fun communication going on. Normally when it's a female they understand that.

What if it's a guy?

guys pms too!drinker

Yes but the source of the PMS comes from a pain in the ass, not in the puss ....loldrinker laugh

I had a friend recently that I thought might be miscontruing a situation. I asked another friend about it, one who knew my friend better than I did, out of concern for the person I was pretty sure was "misunderstanding". I was advised to let it alone as the feedback or warning would be taken with animosity.

That was an understatement. I never said word one to my casual friend, but I was "called out" for butting into their business and told where to go. It made me very sad, as my two conversations about the issue were out of genuine concern for this person.

It turns out it was worse even that I suspected. Both how I was treated and how deep the "misunderstanding" went. That teaches me to live by the Golden Rule, huh! Shame on me...

I normally let people be, when they wanna discuss it I'm there.

However, what about when it's in reverse, when I state I just want to be left alone for a while. That I have things I have to sort out and they just continue to bombard me or try and freely give advice without ever knowing whats on my mind... thats enough to make me go explode

JUST LET THEM RANT AND WHEN THEY ARE DONE I ASK IF THEY FEEL BETTER NOW AND SOMETIMES TELL THEM TO GO F#%K THEMSELVES WHILE LAUGHINGlaugh devil

I did this while my daughter raged at me and at the end she said sorry. It is best to just let em go...we all have our moments of emotional storms it is best if people learn to keep it to themselves or for us to remember they are just having a bad day.

That's kinda how I felt but I give a bit more leeway with it. I told him to not talk to me for 24 hours, if it had been Joe Schmuckatelli from down the street, whom I was not friends with, I would have punched him in the mouth for talking to me in the manner he did. I thought I was being overly nice to say "call me about this tomorrow, when you can talk to me like an adult, and not a spoiled child who isn't getting their way"

but apparently that makes me a sociopathic b*tch... who knew???
