Yes, I was puzzled for a second too until I heard her new song "Come on Over". I think the girl has found her niche`. Obviously no matter what kind of press she's gotten she has a marvelous voice, but I always hated watching her because she seemed to be trying way too hard. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed this song. It seems more like her heart is in it more than it was in her pop days. I encourage country music fans and Jessica Simpson fans to give it a listen.

Listening to it on You Tube. And I have to be honest. Her voice makes me want to rip my ear drums out.

Yes the song brings my stomach to a slow churning. :-) She does look good, but man she is kinda ditzy.

I think its going to be hard for people to accept her because of the previous press about her being a ditz. I personally enjoyed it a lot, its just a matter of taste I guess. I did feel a bit like she was copying off of Jewel by turning country, but her song was cute and it won me over. I think her biggest obstacle is that even though her last album was a few years back, we've not gone a day without hearing something about her in the press. The country as a whole is probably a bit burned out on hearing her name, which makes it hard to separate her from her music.

I haven't heard her new stuff, but i've heard its REALLY bad and nobody plays it so i dunno.

AND I WAS CONFUSED TOO about chicken of the sea! They don't carry that brand in Kentucky, so when i heard about it was like "well, WTF is it? it says chicken but its in a sea, so it might be tuna?"

I think Jessica and Jewel should stick with what they know. Jessica Simpson isn't all that great in the pop genre I don't believe she will be able to master the country genre either.
I was not impressed with her attempt at a country tune.

Jewel's country album is amazing. Especially "Stronger Woman". She was already more folk anyway, which is a relative to country music.

I have to disagree Stronger Woman sounded so forced... the country twang in her voice sounded so very fake. Just my opinion though I understand you have your own tastes. I did like I Do but it also sounds much more like the Jewel I love.

Jewel has lived in Texas with her husband for the last several years, I do not think the twang was forced...lol. Believe me, you can go into the south without an accent, but ya live here long enough ya pick one up whether you want to or not...lol.

Yes I know all about the South and southern accents I lived in South Georgia for 9years. I've heard Jewel talk and I don't think the twang matches up. She also isn't married to Ty Murray.
Like I said I Do is much better and on the same album without the forced country twang.

Your thread isn't about Jewel though so back to Jessica Simpson... carry on.
