You get out of religion only what you put into it.

Can you elaborate further please ?

Not much elaboration needed. Religion is very much like everything else in life, be it one's family, job, whatever. People devote time and effort into these things and people get out what they put in, sometimes even more.

Go to work one day a year, see your family one day a year, go to church one day a year? You don't get much out of it. The more you take part in these things, the more you get from them.

My problem with religion is :
it is fake , a hoax ,non sense ,and represents a primitive life full of contradictions and stupidity .
So we are not in the same boat .

Correct. Your boat is much too shallow and narrow for most people to fit into.

... and then you have the militant christians who do not follow their religious teachings.

Prove it. Even your picture is a distortion of the truth. A square smurf? I think not! laugh flowerforyou

I think you will find that the emphasis is on you to prove that your imaginary friend actually exists, not the other way around.

As soon as you tell them the truth , the personal attacks start , no wonder ; they live in a pure imagination called " religion ". They made of a simple man " A god ". What next for them ?.laugh

2Chr. 20: Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful." After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: "Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever."

Ps. 9:9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done.

Ps. 20: Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

Ps. 22: Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel. In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed. But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads: "He trusts in the LORD; let the LORD rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him." Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother's breast. From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God.

Ps. 25: To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

Ps. 31: Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O LORD, the God of truth. I hate those who cling to worthless idols; I trust in the LORD.

Ps. 33: We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

your wisdom here is obvious, and match all things ever spoken of in religious text, and the many that try to shrink the boat do so because of fearful perceptions, which only create more self-saving greedy agenda's, so it seems education to erase the fear from lies and half-truths is the only solution, but then who cares about freedom from a lie if it still makes one happy, lol..........peace

So you are trying to educate others so they will believe (or not believe) as you do? Proseltyzing? I see that YOU are the one who has bought into lies and half truths. Interesting, eh? So we both have our own paths to follow. Have I ever tried to educate you in my beliefs? Don't try to educate me in yours. What we each see as truth from our own vantage points is the truth we see. Leave it at that. Spend less time trying to convert the world to your way of thinking and you will be a much happier person. To continually tell people that what they believe in their hearts is a lie or half truths or Jesus was just another man, etc., etc., etc., only shows you to be a controlling and angry person with a hate filled agenda and while that may appear to be the case, I feel that it is not an accurate description of you. Peace flowerforyou
