It seems Thoreau had a profound effect on many..eeh? As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives. Thanks for the addition...excellent choice! My father gave me “Walden” when I was ten. I’m STILL making discoveries. I remember vividly though of being SO struck and captivated within the 1st few chapters. The quote: With respect to landscapes, "I am monarch of all I survey, My right there is none to dispute." …was what first made me cognizant of absolute ownership of my own thoughts & NO ONE could ever take them.
