Not anymore...I have "settled" all my life...never again...have found what true love is...within the heart...circumstances have taken him away...but will never look again...I know anything else will be second best and would just be once again...."settleing"

I've tried to settle for less than what I want, and I have not been happy. so the answer is no, I will try to come as close as I can to what makes me happy at this point in my life.

well this is my opinion, sometimes being content doesnt hurt as much as being in and out of love.

If someone did the little things for me to make me happy, I would definitely be content, but the trick is to find that person. I would hope to find that person before I am old and grey! Wait a minute! I AM old and grey. O well, the wrinkles haven't set in yet so I still have time!

I think that there are certain big areas that are not open to compromise. Things like; communication, faithfullness, respect, being on the same page sexually. Too many people let the small things get to them. It seems like everyone is in search of perfection, which of course, doesn't exist. One has to have areas that they will not compromise on and learn to accept, enjoy and appreciate the differences in the rest.

phew! So glad to hear others reiterating what I know to be true for me ... settling is a form of slow death and I can't/won't do that to myself again. Being alone is by far the better alternative, in my experience.

I don't se being alone as an alternative, but I have hope and faith that the "perfect" man FOR ME, not the perfect man, will come along.

I hope I can find more than that, but if it comes down to being alone or being just content - I'll settle for content............maybe. Hope I find out soon.
