Topic: Can being single too long

cause problems with starting or getting into a relationship? Could you be so used to it and set in your ways of being alone that it's difficult to "adjust" to their way of thinking and/or doing things different from you? Has it gotten to the point in your thinking that it's either "my way or the highway" and you aren't willing to change for anyone?

Oh, yeah!!! After all these years of just taking care of kids.... I don't think I like having another grown up around 24/7 !!!

I ams who I ams... They ares who the ares... I think that being single as long as I have- has given me a chance to really get to know myself. I believe I am more willing and much more mature now to deal with another person in my life. Now if I can just get a date!

yeah i find it hard to let myself open up and be with someone .....but i think i could adjust to change if the right person came along!!!!

I sometimes think Im too independant!!! Because Ive had to do everything myself without help.

Well I have spent the last 14 years living alone, me and my Children It was always Mom’s way,,,lol….. I am in a very loving relationship and we have moved in together,, Whooooooooooooooo Boy have I learned a lot about me,,,I have learned that compromise is good,,, and in no way do I Have to change me in order to do so,,,, We agree to dis-agree And move forward at times.. it’s a give and take,,, give respect And you get respect back,, never change you,, just learn sometimes It does take two to make the Soul sing in Harmony… JMO and when he does not agree with you,,, make him do his own laundryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy lol

I've come know myself alot more and my self-esteem is alot higher now because of that. I now know what I want in a guy, but sometimes I worry if I am getting too picky. I mean, I sometimes wonder if I'm expecting my MrRight to be MrPerfect, and I know that isn't possible, or is it?

dont think there is such a thing as being too independent, either you are or you're not. JMO Ok well Im independant but have no problem being with someone. I do find it very hard asking for help though...since Ive had to do everything myself.

I dont have a problem sharing my life w/someone either; now as far as asking for help, that just makes us both "stubborn"
