i have spent 5 days and nights watching over someone in intensive care.
they eventually made it through though it was touch and go we can be amazingly resilient...and accomplish remarkable things with the support of family and friends |

Beau talked to them early today they have Cliff in a induced coma due to his injury's and to keep him comfortable. Monday July 7th he will have his first surgery to start repairing the damage to his arms. So far he is giving it a good fight he has a long road ahead of him. “Life Hanging On A Thread” A life is so precious. One moment all is fine. Life seems to be going good. Next moment they are on a life line. Not sure if their body will make it. As we think back over the past. And think this is way too soon. This life could end to fast. Working on cars was his life. He is just a boy of twenty-seven. He works hard making a living. Now he is floating between life and heaven. He has made plans for the future. His first baby is on the way. At six foot four he’s a big teddy bear. We sit and wonder will he make it through the day. Doing what he loved so much. Something went wrong the engine blew. Up in his face and he was left to fight. Oh God will he make it through. His life is hanging on a thread. Life just seems so unfair. Burns and cuts all over his upper body. His family is left in despair. As they take in all the details. Of what all happened today. They are told to prepare to say their final good-byes. All we can do now is sit and pray. As we think of this life hanging on a thread. A parents worst fears. Is to loose a child so soon in life. There have been many shed tears. The next fort-eight hours are critical. Will he make it through this day? For now he is floating between life and heaven. At times we forget how precious life is each day. K.L.M 7/4/2008 This is about my son's best friend they grew up together. Right now all we know is he is on Life Support. He was working on a car Thursday 7/3 the engine blew up in his face catching him on fire. He had went into business with his Dad as a mechanic after graduating High School. The damages are so extensive that no one is allowed in at this time.  My heart & prayers go out to the family |

For those I have not told this is what happen:
Clifton's Blurbs This is a myspace page that I have created for Clifton. I hope to use this as a way to update many people on Clifton's progress, please feel free to leave comments and messages for Clifton. On July 3rd, 2008 there was an accident at the shop. Clifton was working on a fuel pump of a car that had diesel in a gasoline tank, we think when he unplugged the vacuum pump that was pulling the fuel out of the tank, it created a spark and caused the fire. At the time both Clifton and Dustin were at the shop working on separate cars. Dustin was the one that put the fire out and got Clifton to the front of the shop before the car exploded. There is no doubt in anyones mind that Dustin saved Clifton's life. Clifton was air lifted to Parkland hospital in critical condition. 43% of his body is burned, with 3rd degree burns. It is mostly his arms, chest, some burns on his back and his face. His hospital projected stay is 6 weeks. This is the latest update on Clifton so far they have started a myspace page to let all his friends and family members know what the latest news is. Monday, July 07, 2008 Cliftons surgery Clifton had his first surgery today on his arms. His right arm is worse than expected. The burns are down into the muscle. They are predicting decreased use and mobility. His pinky will be amputated, possibly more. We were hoping for better results, but thankful that it wasn't worse. Even though the first surgery did not go as well as they expected he is still being responsive. They have him in and induced coma and he is still understanding. He is on the breathing machine but is breathing on his on 100%. I thank each of you for all your prayers and well wishes. Come on Beef (Clifton's nick name) you can beat this Big Boy!! My heart and prayers are with you. |

I had not thought of it actually of posting the myspace link to tell the truth. But will post it since it is allowed here. Thank you for the suggestion. As I sat and read it last night and the comments from the friends and family that have found out I just sat and bawled.  I would trade places with him in a heartbeat he is just too young for this to happen. I wish I could give and update but right now it is all a waiting game to see if the first skin grafts took or not. It has only been 4 days so far and it may be 2 weeks before they know for sure if this one will adhere to the skin like they are hoping for. For those that went to the myspace and left comments thank you from the bottom of my heart. (((((((Buttercup)))))))) you are my heart it brought a smile to my face and warmed my heart to see your thoughts upon the page. I love you

Angel your more then welcome thank you for mentioning it Dragoness CantonGal thank you so much for your kind words indeed  OHHH GOOD NEWS THE FIRST SKIN GRAPHS HAVE TAKEN WHOOO HOOOO!!! These are the ones the Doctors were most worried about. Brought tears to my eyes when I found out. Clifton has his second surgery come this Monday for more skin graphs. Prayers are being sent for this one to go as well as the first. He is still very critical but every bit of good news is a blessing for sure. |
