You did something wrong at one end of the village and got swatted a million times before you got home, that for me was followed up with " You should know better, your dad's a policeman!" Like that would stop a kid from having fun !!!

There are things I DON'T miss...rotary phones, getting up to change the channel, typing out papers (although there is something sentimental about the typewriter) but Even though I appreciate the conveniences of technology, before the cell phone you had to plan to meet somewhere and BE THERE ON TIME. Even though I love the instant gratification of music at the touch of a button I MISS RECORD STORES...AND RECORDS......spending hours looking at album covers. Waiting for that one release and being there when the store opened. Getting that "LP". Opening it up. Putting it on (and the headphones). Reading the liner notes as you listen. Having friends over to listen to THE WHOLE ALBUM. Somehow pointing and clicking just falls flat. |
