I'll pass on "Hanjob", personally. And this is for two (count'em, TWO) reasons-
- I can't STAND Will Smith. I find him incredibly annoying, and his over-use of the all-too-tired "Hey! Look at me! I'm Will Smith! You know... the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air???!!!" schtick is simply maddening. I constantly shake my head and wonder as to why he's even in the position he's in, as there are a great many MUCH better actors than he is who could have pulled off the character much more proficiently. I also find his wife and kids rather grating on the ears as well. - I was contracted to provide some special effects (that's what I do for a living) for the premiere after-party that was supposed to have gone on after the L.A. premiere (at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre) on Monday. Among other things, we were supposed to provide smallish fires in some "wrecked" cars, as well as make one car stand up on its bumper at a 45-degree angle (as Mr. Gettin' Jiggy Wit' It does at one point in the movie). Had the people putting on the premiere after-party not stalled us on the money we needed to get everything done, AS WELL as not try to pull some shenanigans with liability insurance, we woulda done the job for them. As it was, we bowed out of the ensuing fiasco, as they were clearly not serious about actually going through with the job. So going to see "HanC.O.C.K." is something I won't be doing for the foreseeable future. Except -maybe- if I find a copy for dirt cheap at my local pawn shop or something. |

Moofooga....Will Smith was so funny in "Hitch", it's too bad you are hung-up on some Business problems/issues to enjoy the humor that he's put out in movies. I didn't care for him in the Fresh Prince of BelAir; but he's done some pretty good movies. But I don't so anything that would bring me to a point where I was personally affected (or rather my pocketbook---when anything affects your purse strings---it becomes VERY personal). Forgive and move on! You most likely learned a lesson from that experience! Good luck with your future dealings.
My son really wants to see this new movie and if not at the theater---then on DVD later. Can't wait. |

I simply won't put my money into an entity that is in some way unsavory. It's like the saying goes... "no money, no funny"... if they wanted something done, they should have not played any games and paid up, which they didn't do. So they didn't get that spectacular premiere for their movie. Boo-hoo for them. And my views on Will Smith are strictly professional as well. I can think of at least a dozen other MUCH BETTER actors who coulda pulled off the title role much better than Smith. However, none of THEM got the role. I'm puttin' MY money on the Howard The Duck sequel. Or Ishtar II. |
