The New York Daily News says 20 year old Ruslana Korshunova, fell from the 9th floor of her hi-rise apartment at 126 Water Street around 2:30 p.m. this afternoon. Korshunova was born on July 2, 1987, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She was discovered in 2003 by Debbi Jones, a Senior Booker for Models 1, who saw Korshunova's picture in an in-flight magazine. Since then, she has modeled for famous designers including Nina Ricci, Marc Jacobs and Cynthia Rowley. Police are still investigating the situation. |

but i also read that some construction netting around her apartment's balcony had been cut

That industry is extremely high stress and surprisingly oppressive. If she didn't have a good support network, I could see the stress getting to someone.

Models are under tremendous amounts of pressure from agents, Publicists, Magazines, etc. to look a certain way, and sometimes the pressure to succeed is too much. I can see how one would crack and do the unthinkable. |

i know they are under soo much pressure ..
but gosh, she was doing so well... Oh, how sad to have her precious life cut off so short gosh, i was 20 years old when my husband and i had our very first baby ... Just starting out her family must be just devastated |

Maybe somebody told her she was in the prime of her career? If you've reached the peak by the time you're 20 it kinda doesn't give you a whole lot to look forward to!
