I've had a few issues when meeting people in their 40's. I can't get over the fact that so many look nearly my father's age. It didn't dawn on me until today that the issue is probably not that they look older.
The problem is that my father looks younger than his age. I get that from him. So this mental issue I'm having with people not that must older than me is something I'm really gonna have to try and get over. |

my dad will be 70 in august and walked to the bottom of the grand canyon and back up last yr...and i can't keep him off the trampoline when comes to visit

Have the same problem...now I date men nearly half my age...and no one bats an eyelid...Im nearly 50 myself, I think I look it, but I agree with you, men of my age look 90!!!! yuk...own teeth please

I do know what you mean. We think we are younger on the inside and outside, but really, we are age appropriate. I had this discussion with my Mom once, may she rest in peace. Dennis Day looked as good to her in his 70's as he did in his 30's. You don't even know who the heck Dennis Day is, though, now do ya???

My dad is super active and goes scuba diving. He looks and acts much younger than his age. But I don't want to date people who are my dad's ages. So I sometimes have a mental block with people who look like the might be around his age, but my ability to judge that is totally screwed up, since he looks younger. So people in my appropriate age group sometimes seem like they are older than they should be because they look more in my father's age group. Only because my father looks younger.
I know, confusing, I feel like I'm caught up in a viscious circle. |

I ran into the same issue when I became signal.....Women my age 40ish looked like my mom ewwwwwwwwww......
So the first girl I dated after the divorce was 25....that was the wrong answer, way too much drama.. 3 years later I'm still dealing with that issue and its not an easy one to deal with..... But I am thinking if we meet the right person it won't matter. We will see the beauty if their soul and not the way they look at least that is my hope.....its all I got...
