bry,thanks for your candid comments...that's a start!

and women have pride, too..it's not easy being so open and forthright
and being so has caused me a great deal of emotional pain.

But the way I see it, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Life is not meant to be viewed from the sidelines and watched while it
passes you by.

Take a chance, even if it means your pride or ego might be slightly
damaged. Even if it is, you'll recover!

Yes, BigP, I do like the door held open for me...and I'll do the same
thing for a man ...or woman, or child....or whatever.

It's called "common courtesy."

hard,,,,,,,, as a man to know the line is all and for sure some women
want to do as much or more than men,, as do men not saying i ther is
wrong just hard to get to know what each individual likes and desires
,,that's all

For me to convey my true feelings to a man is oftentimes an cause of
very significant stress for me, but I do it anyway.

In other words, from my perspective, it's no easier for a woman than it
is for a man. I think men tend to internalize things a lot more, though,
and hold in emotions or things that they're afraid to say. That's not
healthy, IMO. I think that's why men use sex or fighting or aggression
oftentimes...as an outlet of their emotions that they're too
"intimidated" or "proud" to discuss outwardly.

But I'm a very logical person, in that, whatever decisions I make, they
have to be logical, to me.

Like, if I care about someone, I'll tell them I care about them. The
hard part is not the fact that I'm candidly telling them that; the hard
part is worrying about how they'll react to it. I don't want someone
thinking that, just because I say that, that they are somehow indebted
to me. And I think that that's where a lot of the fear comes in, is the
whole "Oh hell, now I guess I owe them," attitude.

I had a female friend once who stated to me, "I appreciate you."

I paused for a moment, waiting for her to continue saying what it was
she appreciated me for, what I had done to make her appreciate me.

But it was soon apparent that she had ended the sentence. I thought it
was one of the nicest things anyone's ever said to me. She appreciated
ME, our friendship, and that was it.

IMO, men and women in other than platonic relationships should treat
each other the same way and we'd make long strides toward bridging the
"battle of the sexes" gap between us.

The ten things i look for in a women
The first five are probably on everyones list
1. Honesty
2. good Communication skills
3. optamism
4. a sence of humor
5. a sence of adventure

The next five are what i consider very important seconds. If a women is
super attractive and these don't happen then I don't consider it a
successful relationship:
1. That extra second of eye contact you make with someone when you
truely get who they are. Sometimes it takes a few hours and sometimes
it takes a few minutes..
2. The accidental touch that sends energy through your whole body like
the first time you kissed a girl as a kid. It could be a touch of two
feet at dinner or a brush of two shoulders in a store..
3. the second you first smell a women and all you want to do is nustle
your nose into her neck and feel her breath on your shoulder.
4. The second that you relize you need something wether it be a napkin
at dinner, a smile in the rain or some soup when your sick and she has
already got it for you. Some how she new exactly what you needed.
5. The second you picture you and her on a boat on the intercoastal
holding hands on you 60th birthday!!!

Not to upset any of you but truthfully I don't pay much attention to
these lists.

I am the way I am.

If I read these lists and then try to make myself appear to be what
someone is looking for by acting like I am that way.

it would be a lie.

So I just have to hope that what I am is what someone else is looking
for.
