Does anyone know anything about speed dating? Is there a way to get into that without joining a site and paying through the nostrils?

well, with this site, you're not paying a dime. does that count for anything? or perhaps you could ask a friend who might know of some single gals. if not, ask out your neighbor. she may be a 65 year old widow...but still, you should always be more considerate.

Not too many Saskatoonians on this site however. If I want somebody, chances are they're not even from Saskatchewan...I'd rather not lay all of my hopes of the promise of a long distance relationship...

I tried speed dating in 1994 with some female friends of mine - it cost $25.00 for the evening and it was quite fun. There was a host who was supposed to be an expert on this thing who kept time. We only got 5 minutes to chat to each guy who came by. If we were interested, we exchanged phone numbers. I met a few interesting men and went out with one a few times, but nothing came of it. I went there to meet men and ended up with a new female friend who is still my friend to this day.

You can speed date at the grocery store, laundramat, waiting at a red light.

The secret to attraction, IMO, is pheremomes. If the 2 of you sense the pheremone action, there will be attraction. Just have to act on it.

I've been speed dating, it was interesting, if you make sure you pick the right "group', like active, or 30+, etc. Just like the previous lady mentioned, its 20-30 bucks for about and hr or so of time, each session is 5-7 mintues, nowadays you dont exchange numbers there at the site, as not to hurt feelings. You put who you want to meet on paper and the coordinator, or the site will contact you to let you know you have a match. And again, just like the other lady, i met a really cool girl. Would def do it again.

Have heard of it never tried it, don't think it would be fun. I would like to get to know someone instead of speeding through a date
