Anybody got advice on how to deal with all the BS and micromanaging that goes on when working in the healthcare field? I work my a$$ off, but am constantly pushed to do more.

I feel for ya darlin'. I've worked in that field for a lot of years...the pay sucks, the hours suck, the conditions suck...
but it all ended for me in sept 2005 when one of my clients beat the sh*t out of me and broke my shoulder all up...now I'm on comp and that really sucks but I will never go back to taking care of people... ![]() |

It's a corp game... you either play the game or call it quits. There's no way to make it any better. If it bothers you that much, go into another field. For example, if you are a nurse, go into hospice or home care and work for yourself. Just a thought...

I work my a$$ off, but am constantly pushed to do more. ![]() ![]() ![]() I hear ya... I am a medical assistant for an internal meds doctor. I work harder and know more than the nurses do! And the red tape you have to go through getting referrals, precerts and prior authorizations is enough to make you lose it! There are many days I just want to walk out.. but unfortunately me and my son depend on this job so therefore I stay... |

1st of all, Thanks to all of you! Especially those who are in a long term care facility. I think you are very underpaid & underappreciated. We need to take care of the people who are taking care of our sick & elderly!
My sister is a nurse, she burnt out & is teaching now. |

I am working on getting out of the nursing home environment and into the independent living structure. The nursing home has helped me to learn how to deal with my grief but now I would like to work on my independency. The pay, benefits and insurance will suck I am sure of but I have ulterior motives. I like the helthcare profession but am ready for something different. An aide was telling me about a facility that deal with teenagers with mental handicaps. I am sure I will lose none of the insanity that comes with the healthcare profession but a change of pace might just be what I need now. I enjoy helping others but like helping myself as well.
