Saturday night, I take a hot bath. shortly after draining the tub, I find out it leaked into art store below. Building manager said maintenance would come. I canceled my saturday and sunday plans but no one showed....

There is no evidence in the bathroom of a leak. There is no access panels to get to plumbing from inside the bathroom. So I don't see how it would do any good to come in. Problem is in the pipe between my floor and their ceiling.

But I'm worried if they come when I'm not here. If the apartment manager comes. The building is cat friendly. If you call the enormous pet deposit cat friendly.

I didn't tell them I had any. Trying to set aside the money for the pet deposit. Didn't expect a huge problem in the first week here.

I feel like I can't win for losing. The world has been slipping and sliding the past two years and I've been holding on tooth and nail. Feels like their breaking now.

Wish I could travel back in time and figure out where things started to go down hill and take a different path.

How does everyone else get through this ****? I feel like I need a road map....

can you put the cat in a carrier and take it with you or keep it in your bedroom for the day?

Loft apartment. Bedroom and living room are seperated by bathroom and kitchen, but one long hall goes through. No doors. I thought of putting them in the carriers and taking them back to the house for a couple days. Then bringing them back. But I might never get them back in the carries at that point. To big of a house to corral them in.

I would have thought they would have had maintenance in right away. Since it was leaking into the middle of a business showroom. They could have come in and looked at it from underneath and never told me. Which is a pain. I couldn't shower Sunday because of it and probably today to, since I don't know for sure.

I had that happen a while back in a house I bought last year. It leaked into the kitchen below and caused all the Pergo fake floor to lift. I still don't have it completely repaired because the whole bath was tile and they obviously had leaks before and covered them up - I should sue. The whole kitchen ceiling will have to be torn down to repair it. I had to make another shower in the basement to use in the meantime.

I don't want to get into trouble for having cats when I didn't tell them. That is the real worry. It was a 200, non-refundable deposit for each cat, plus an extra 25$ a month per cat. Every place had a variation of that. I just didn't have all that money at once.

I'd shower, they should have fixed it and didn't let them worry about paying for any damages... Take the cats to the big house it will be much less trouble rounding them up than having to come up with the deposit money or getting evicted...

I haven't slept and I have to be up in 3.5 hours, 4 at the latest. If I'm taking cats back, there is no point in trying to go to sleep now.

I keep trying to decide about taking the cats to the house. I hate the idea of carrying two cat carriers two blocks to my car with a sprained ankle and in the old market in the wee hours of the morning. Arg! I just wish the maintenance man had come this weekend like I was told he would.

Sure, I could use some chocolate. And I don't even care for chocolate.

Sorry to hear all that! Hopefully you can clean up the evidence a cat was in there and get the pipes fixed. Have a friend that can take a cat for a day or two? I wish you luck! flowerforyou

Not really. But what gets me is that coming into the apartment isn't going to help. Can't access anything, unless they plan to rip out the bathroom to start tracking the leak. Then I have a much bigger problem. I can't live without a bathroom.
