Im all for catching perverts but the truth is, it is entrapment. There are no underage victims and those men were invited to that location I find it troubling some of the things the police have been doing in recent years Police corruption is for another thread ....!.

If I tell someone that I am a 14 year old girl and they talk in a sexual manner to me how is that entrapment? You know you are not to talk to kids like that. If I say meet me for sex and you think I am a 13 year old kid, how is that entrapment? You know you are not supposed to do that, but you do it anyway...That's not entrapment. Entapment would be telling someone you are 18, when actually you are only 16 and then arresting them later...That's entrapment.

Entrapment - The act of government agents or officials that induces a person to commit a crime he or she is not previously disposed to commit. If the police put the idea in the Perp's head then it is entrapment. A cop acting like a hooker just standing there, is not entrapment, intiating conversation about paying for sex is. It isn't easy to prove but police have to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. I am only asking these questions because I have a term paper due tusday and am looking for different perspectives and am trying to initiate some arguments.

the answer to this quesion is easy if you google it. in the first and part of the second season of "to catch a predator" it was simply dateline doing "research". there were no cops involved. after the positive results of the show, the poice got involved and now are coordinating the effort. and dateline is essentialy funding the task force for it. (i am "dumming down" this explination just so you know) they are given the option of wether or not to be put on tv. and the poice are there to make suer that everything is done according to police protocol. and i say that if the media wants to provide funding to get perverted azzheads off the streets and away from my kids!!! all the better.

I want perverts to be dealt with as well. I just find the techniques that the police have been using to be frightening. Because the police use these same methods to persecute people in other countries. I dont believe in secret police

evil? and what are the assheads that are out there commiting the crimes in the first place. there are a specific set of rules that are in place and as long as they are followed then it is not entrapment!!! There are no underage victims and those men were invited to that location I find it troubling some of the things the police have been doing in recent years so what is it called when they have the cops posing as prostitutes to catch the Johns on the street? same thing... and they have been dooing that for centuries.. or undercover agents? Yes that is entrapment as well and so are the way they conduct a lot of drug investigations. In other countries the police use these same techniques to falsely imprison political and religious people. I dont believe there should be secret police Its evil

I don't think you read what people are saying dude. You earlier simplified one statement I said horribly wrong. Just because someone disagrees on tactics and someone else thinks they can be saved or redeemed doesn't mean the condone the act.

There are far worse things a person can do and no one calls for death in those instances and if it were YOUR child who was being targeted by these pedifiles??? what would you say then? someone out there whos goal in life is to trick my child into meeting them so that they can rape and in many instances murder them??? I dont believe in secret police All countries have secret police and they do protect the nations from inside and outside criminals . They are only humans and humans are not perfect : there are good ones and bad ones everywhere .

more parents need to monitor what thier kids are doing on these computers... 14 and 15 year olds should not be in the position to be offering sex!!!!
