We all know that there isnt a country in the world we can't whip militarily.

My question is, Do we have the mental, and moral capacity to lead the world without being a bully?

Israel cant defend itself against Iran.noway noway

Not without us, and it would be catastrophic if we attempt to take out Iran's Nuclear capability!
Not impossible but very hard and the loss of life would be worse than Nagasaki and Hiroshima combined if we Nuke them.
Political ramifications would be anyone's guess. (unknown but far-reaching)

Agreed Fanta...political ramifications would be very high...and unknown...but an atomic bomb detonated inside a major city would have much greater ramifications I think. Although there are many border line hostile nations that possess neuclear weapons like Korea, China etc the two that pose the greatest threat are Iran and possibly Pakistan in the near future(depending what party comes to power). Iran is world known for supporting Jihad all over the globe and it may not come "directly" from the government of Iran..but through proxy by way of terrorist groups.Pakistan is a ticking time bomb and if the islamic fundamentalists can seize power that will have major ramifications for US and India and that whole region.

They arent stupid people. They know we could and would nuke them into a glass factory and still have nukes left over!

They want a Nuke for one reason.

It is the only sure fire deterrent to keep us from invading them.
It works in Pakistan, it works in N Korea, it works in China, India, and Russia!
Why not there?
Esp., when they had to take it back from us once, defend it when we helped Saddam invade them, and now Bush parks the worlds most powerful military next door and places them on an axis of evil list!

Next I'll see you in one of the gas price threads wondering why gas prices have went from $1.47 when Bush took office to $4.00 today!

China?

You would come a very bad second to the world's largest land army.

The US doesnt have the mental, and moral capacity to lead the world without being a bully, in the same way that the Brits couldnt do it 200 years ago, the same way the Egyptians couldnt do it 5000 years ago.

Leading the world technologically will ultimately lead to bullying someone. Its simple economics. They have something you need, you ask, they say no, so you take it.

Not a damning indictment, but the state of human affairs
