I have given my teenagers wine coolers on occasions and only when I'm there, but would never buy for thier friends or anyone else...we all know kids will sneak it or get someone to buy it for them...We know we were kids once:wink: Remember!!!

Your kids, your choice. I'm not going to judge anyone for that, because that is not for me to judge. I was a teenager once, just like everyone else, and I made a conscious decision not to drink bigsmile , that is where my opinion comes from.

It used to not be such a big deal for parents to buy their own kids a beer or wine cooler here, but now; it is absolutely illegal. The law finds out....yo busted, in your home or not.

I am suprised at the responses.

Yes, I buy my niece beer when she asks and it has been only about three times. she is 19. She paid me 20 dollars to buy her a 12 pack and I kept the change. She is a smart responsible girl and I think it is okay.

Now if a strange minor asked me to buy them beer...say they were skulking around the store and approached me and offered me 50 dollars to do so, I would ask to see their licence (to know their true age) and if over 18, I would say Yes.

Family is different. My only exceptions were if I knew them or in college played Football with them. Otherwise I didn't trust those kids not to get in trouble and squeel on me.

did this too....

depends on their age.....minor implies under 18...but since Reagan blackmailed all the states into raising the legal drinking age to 21 ..."adults" 18 19 20 can't legally purchase alcohol....i am torn.....

Wow everyones so adamant about NO. Sure I'd buy some beer or a pack of smokes for a kid. If I think the kid is responsible enough to handle themselves. And honestly I'd rather be the one they'd ask because I'm a bit of a hard@ss about where, with who and what's going on.
Doing prison time for buying a kid booze? Must be in US only. We'd get a fine up here but theres little way for the coppers to prove it anyhow.
Would it be better for them to drink Draino or try some crack at a party? I'll buy the kid a 6-pack.

Yes it is just in the US. We are prohibistionist swine and concern our lives in the lives other people worrying about what they do in their bedrooms and in their homes. We have a government that is about total social control. It is sad. We could be great, instead, our government feels it should be a deity witht he abilities to destroy and must be feared by all. It is a greedy deity though, consumes the ones that are supposed to worship it and it never gets enough.

Humm well I can't say no for I did buy if for my son for his graduation party they had at my house.

Along with many other parents that did it.

I left my house and stayed in a Motel and let him have his graduation party at my house. The other parents all knew it and did not have a problem with it.

They were all allowed to stay at my place for the night.

This is the only way I would do it if the parents knew and we all agreed.

But ..........now to do it for someone I did not know standing outside of a Liquor Store ect... no way my luck it was a sting and I would be fined for $2,000 and taken to jail no thanks.
