There are currently 27 million to 200 million slaves in bondage today.

Genocide is currently being commited in Sudan, with little effort being applied to stop it.

An estimated one billion people worldwide are at risk for starvation.

An estimated 2.7 million people die a year from malaria, while an estimated 6 million people die a year from all mosquito born illnesses. This could be easily prevented through the use of DDT. Since the banning of DDT, 3 Billion people have suffered from Malaria and close to 100 million of those infected have died. The mosquito is the single most deadly animal on the planet.

In the past 100 years, over 100 million people have been victims of Democide (murdered by their own government).

In the past 100 years, over 100 million people have been victims of Democide (murdered by their own government).

example of which are the dictatorships in Latin American in the 60's and 70's, supported by thr CIA, and therefore, the USA government. WIth the excuse to fight communism.
They fought an evil with an even worse evil. Yet the endoctrination will make say some people that the North American government was right in supporting such blood thirsty governments. In order to defend freedom and democracy in the USA while entires populations in Latin America were exterminated.
That is the REAL face of humanity.

I have no idea what you mean by this, it's full of faulty assumptions.

"They fought an evil with an even worse evil."

How do you know that? Castros revolution was incredibly bloody and brutal, why do you think his friends in South America would have been nicer?

"while entires populations in Latin America were exterminated."

Citation?

If you want to discuss on a case by case basis, I would be glad to, but you post is hardly better than shotgun argumentation.

In the 80's and early 90's we were told we would not do any business with and communists regime that held thier people down. This is the reason why you or me are not allowed to go to Cuba. What about China? Are they a communists regime that holds thier people down? Yes they are. But the almighty rules changed for the face of ole George. Now we see china in all of our houses as the middle class has went down the tubes. No longer can a HS graduate go out and work hard and make a decent living. We must be of the upper class to beable to get that college education that we may continue and have become the society that holds its people down. This was a planned attach and hopefully we can change things so that the fighting and drug lords in our streets do not give more reason for our govt to move foward to a communist Regime.Blood shed comes in forms that are called to us in the darkand thier fore, for our own good. The atrosities u speak of our very real but the atrosities of preferring a war machine are much worse when those same dollars could end what u are talking about. Now we see gas prices go up. Why? IMO..The Govt. we have now does not want to lose thier hold on this war machine so this is no more than putting more pressure on it's own citizens that we must continue for the unrest will get worse if we bail out. So let us have a taste of what they claim will happen if we do. Another political monachary with backers in the background calling the shots. As we have a lot of influence over the worlds oil producers for good or for worse. As Pres. Clinton proved in 99 when he flew to SA and thier king threatened to pull out of OPEC if they limited production and OPEC backed down over 1 country. We have not seen any such thing in the last 8 years. Now you may say what does this have to do with bloodshed. Everything we shift our priorities not only for the rich but to weaken americans and get rid of so called undesirables across the world. Who is at the forfront of leading the way to genocide may I ask?..Shalom...Miles

In the 1960s the Ecuadorian Communist Party hailed the military junta that came to power with the backing of the CIA. After their own leaders fell to the repression unleashed by this regime, they secured their release in exchange for an appeal to the working class to drop their resistance to the dictatorship.

Again in the 1970s, when General Rodriguez Lara took power, also with CIA support, the Stalinist party proclaimed it a progressive regime and secured a role as unofficial adviser with an office in the presidential palace. The Rodriguez Lara regime paved the way to a military triumvirate, which unleashed intense political repression and carried out massacres of striking workers.

If this: "while entires populations in Latin America were exterminated." were true, you wouldn't have any family or friends. You seem to be implying that genocide was commited, I don't believe I have ever heard that claim made before.

What is the harm of ddt to life on this planet? There was a reason it was banned.

Circumsizing women is a religious practice and is therefore not a crime as it is done in the name of god, right?

Murder by their own government as in our death penalty here? Does that count? Or how about the innocent soldiers who are fighting an illegal self serving war for Bush? Do they count as murdered by the government?

Human ugliness has alot of faces, some is in the name of god, some is in the name of their country, some is in the name of greed, etc.... Which ugliness are you refering to?

DDT doesn't harm the environment, that has been proven through every scientific study done on DDT. The "Egg shell thining" wasn't caused by DDT. There is plenty of evidence that even a small amount of DDT would save millions of human and animal lives. The US watches for dead birds to track West Nile, Yellow Fever, Malaria, etc. Birds die at much higher rates than humans to those diseases. Do some googling and you will be left wondering why DDT isn't legal.

That's just stupid and offensive.

Democide is MURDER, not execution for crimes. Starvation is the main method of democide, but execution without trial was used in Cambodia and Vietnam following the US pull out.

Miquel,

You are missing my point. Maybe it's the language barrier.

If "entires populations in Latin America were exterminated." and your friends and family were among those populations, then they would be dead. You too for that matter. Entire means all. What you are describing in genocide. I'm NOT denying that people were murdered, I'm pointing out that genocide didn't occur. If you believe that genocide occured, then please offer a citation. Anger and insults aren't needed, I'm disappointed that you feel that you needed to pull the "comfort" card.

That is one of the stupidest things I have ever read. You must believe that Christians believe that anything done in the name of God is justified. News flash! We don't. Obviously, we don't. Obviously we wouldn't believe that anything done in the name of a god we don't believe in is right. It's just a completely loaded and stupid question. Everyone is a little bit dumber for having read it.

as a matter of grammar i will say that you are right.
as a matter of numbers we are up to the thousands, you may ask people from Chile or Argentina. The dictatorships were even worse than in my country.
I concede reason to your assertion just as a matter of semantics, just that.

Not intending to burn you, just stating a fact. And the religious do believe if it says so in the book of whatever religion they use that is the rule of god it is therefore not a crime, death penalty is based on the "eye for and eye" of the bible, homosexulity is a stated as a sin of kind so religious shun the homosexual community, etc.... So my stating that circumsizing women is done in the name of god is therefore not a crime is completely accurate. Deny it all you want but you are lying if you do.

No, you are completely wrong. Many Christians (like me) oppose the death penalty. Homosexuality is called a sin, but Christians are commanded to not shun anyone for their beliefs. So Christians who "shun" homosexuals are sinning.

You are jumbling so many ideas together, that you are creating an incredible logical fallacy.

1) Christians wouldn't necessarily agree with any practice commanded by Allah (they are Christians, not Muslims).
2) There are 613 commandments in the Bible...only 10 directly apply to Christians. The reason for tha is that only 10 were given to all of the world, the other 603 were given to Israel. Christians use the 603 commandments to determine God's likes / dislikes, but they don't enforce them.
3) Death Penalty isn't based on "Eye for an Eye", if it was, everyone who commited murder would be executed.
4) Allah never called for women to be circumcised, but Mohammad did say "Do not cut too severely as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband", regulating circumcision.

Look at point 2...if a group of Christians stoned someone for witchcraft, blasphemy or another crime, Christians would openly denouce their actions and call for their punishment. It's as simple as that. There is no relgion on the earth that demands female circumcision, but it is very common in Islamic tribal cultures, because their scripture doesn't directly forbid such behavior.

So I stand by my previous statement, your question was stupid.
