i used to be depressed but i found a way to fight back at it. you have
to be happy with what youve got and give yourself a confidence boost
everynow and then.

salsa you are right. I try to explain that but some people think that
everyone in this world is depressed.
I been there, done that. However I learn that there is more to life and
looking at things from a positive perspective is what keeps you going.

What is there so depressing about winter?
In opinion, Nothing!!
All four seasons were created for a reason and each one has its positive
and negative aspects. However it is up to us which aspect we are
influenced by. I chose the positive aspects.

Hummm , raven before you sit there and throw your words
of wisdom at others make sure you even know the person
that you are talking about. NYC girl phony naw you’re wrong
there she is very real. All she was saying more or less about depression
is that if you get out and do things keep busy it does help the
depression. A person that lets depression take over there life will find
it that much harder to come out of the depression. With humor even in
the boring threads it is not making fun of that thread just bringing a
little humor to everyday life. Sometimes it is humor alone that helps
bring one out of being depressed. Ohh and to your answer if you got you
a snow Board then would you fit in like everyone else I doubt it unless
your just wanting to be a carbon copy of someone else my self I would
rather just be me, snowboarding would not get me out of a depression
cause my luck I would break a leg. But……… then who are you to sit and
judge if NYC is lonely or not. Matter of fact you seem awful lonely to
me the way you talk but have I said you were a lonely boring man nooo
for it is not for me to judge you or put you down like you seem to think
you are so good at. Until you show me a degree that you have the right
to judge anyone. Then your opinion is just that an opinion with nothing
to back it up with! When ever you start a thread in here you must be
able to see the good and bad in all the answers who is there to say what
will or will not get one out of a depression. It does not make sence to
create a thread then lash out at the ones that answer just because you
have a difference of opinion with them. Funny how sometimes the ones
your argue with might have those degrees on the wall to back up of who
and what they are but you know what that does not still make there word
law. We all have an opinion and should be able to debate on it but then
lowering ourselves to name calling is not the mature way to go about it
is it?

Anywho this is my opinion and only mine and I don't need someone to back
me up or have a cheering squad to cheer me on just the knowledge that I
have retained in life alone is all I need. I know how I treat others and
do expect the same from others this is not to cut you down but for you
to see that you yourself brought yourself down with your words of
another and in life by trying to bring another down it does not get you
anywhere but to have others look at you in a differnt way. Anywho I just
felt like I had to respond to your ourburst on here with my thoughts I'm
not in here to argue with you or anyone else just sometimes we should
think before we actually say the things about someone else that you have
no clue of the person they really are!!

STNDING OVATION

TxsGal...you rock my friend!!! With your words we are showing that we
are much more than a site where people come and talk. WE are a family
and we respect each other. Those who choose to disrespect us will have
to deal with the whole family.

I personaly love winter and snow.
theres nothing like getting on a horse and riding through the woods and
looking for all the wild animal tracks. or straping the skis on and
going down a mountain side at full speed.
but i do love summer better lol but i can have fun in winter too and get
plenty of sun that reflects from the snow. but i dont like rain

I do know I have some issues, and sometimes the meds (xanex) helps me
out greatly, but I don't recommend it for everyone. They can get
addictive if ya let em, then ya almost can't be happy without em. That's
why I only take em when I get to trippin big time. I can't say the
winter has ever depressed me, but that's cuz I lived in the Cali Valley
where it hardly ever snowed, and now in Arkansas where it rarely does
(in our part anyway). But I do know folks that would just get down
mentally durin the winter, and if ya really care about em, ya gotta be
there for em.

I suffer from depression and anxiety. Without meds, I can barely
function and will suffer horrible panic attacks. The medication simply
takes me back to normal - no high - just normal.

My son, too, suffered from depression while his dad was dying from
cancer. Without the meds, he probably would have been in the psych
ward.

Unless you have ever suffered from SAD, anxiety, etc., you really cannot
understand it.

Winter depression tends to affect people more in the northern parts of
the country, not in the sunnier parts. People who don't feel it are
lucky. Doctors even tell their patients who want to come off their
antidepressants to not try it during the winter but wait until spring or
summer, in case there is an element of SAD there. It is a true medical
diagnosis. You can buy light boxes to help deal with it and meds help a
lot of people. I have tried many different meds and just decided not to
take them due to side effects, and function okay without them. Others
need the meds to function.

Depression hits everybody and if u take meds or not who gives a f**k
seriously. If it helps it helps but sometimes it's gonna hit u and it
sticks those weirdos that say oh I can beat it myself well good luck
with that but at the same time don't judge when people take meds cuiz in
this day and age it's b.s. seriously. But part of life is depression but
life is survival anyways so put on some music and try and get thru if
not it's there and then it'll be gone but not thru willpower and gee i'm
happy now,lol.
