At what point do you forgive someone? They cheated, left you, whatever it may be...

Do you Forgive or not?

When do you know you have forgiven someone truly?

You can say the word, not really mean it.
It's human nature.

Always forgive!
Anger is just too much baggage to carry around in your life!
If you can't forgive, then at least forget and move on!

I totally agree. Unforgiveness leads to bitterness. The only one it hurts or even affects is you babe

Its not about me, a friend and I were talking about this earlier....

I have forgiven my ex, but cant reemember when I actually did, guess it just happended without thinking about it...

My friend is real bitter still after a few months, the anger is pretty intense..I was trying to show him a different light

I agree with most of what Judy said but I thinkits different for each person.. I can forgive something and cant forgive others. Cheating is no forgiveness in my book. Hurting my children.. no forgiveness.. jmo

the minute they start acting funny or doing something they used to do when they were cheating thats the first thing thats going to pop in your head or when you are fighting whats the first thing people throw in the others face..."well you cheated"
if you aren't with them any more then just let it go its not worth holding on to and wasting time over..move on with life and enjoy someone eles

i forgive them for the wrong they do to me.but when it keeps happening day after day for years it is hard to be a good person and keep forgiving them.

Forgiving is one thing and forgeting is another. When you can face what has happened without anger, then you are on the path to fogiveness.

Forgiveness is for yourself....It takes away the Anger
Forgetfulness is for Alzheimers & then its likely to happen again....
So Forgive, but don't Forget unless you want it to reoccur

It took me years to get over my ex cheating on me. I told him it was like scratching your favorite CD. We were perfect, every aspect of our relationship was incredible. His dad died, he went home for the funeral, slept with an old friend and called me crying right afterward. It broke my heart and I havent dated since. We tried and I just cried every time I looked at him. Jan 5, 04 we finally called it quits. Weve talked about it, we both felt the same way (never been happier) but I cant get over it. Forgave, cant forget.

This is a good advice for some folks on this site and I am glad it is being said by someone else.

i agree with you on the hurting my children thing.a child is a gift from god and why? just why? would any mom hurt her child day after day for years now.

If anyone emotionally or physically hurts my child...Trust me, the door is coming off the hinges!

I think you can forgive but never forget in the sense of not leaving your self open to let it happen again.
