Since when did common decency, common courtsey and honesty become a lost art?? it seems as if only truely dedicated christians understand these things.. i was brought up that this is how life IS not an option..The bible says "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" (ok pretty close) WHY does this seem to be so hard for many to understand ???DID I lose sight of what is going on??

It seems we are in an era of " I want it now, and I don't care who I step on to get it."

ok I resent that statment. I am a very dedicated, respectful, honest, and courteous person without being a christian.

Why is it always the Christians that think you have to be one of them before you can ever be a good person?grumble grumble

I'm sorry, normally I don't respond to things like this but why do you assume that only true Christians, or any kind of Christian, has a lock on morals and ethics and treat others well? I've seen so-called "devout" Christians do things that make you ill and treat others so abominably, it's hard to fathom. And I've seen others of other faiths, or no faith at all, who are truly kind, compassionate, loving, giving and generous people. Being a good person has nothing whatsoever to do with faith.

"DID I lose sight of what is going on??"

In a way, yes. Because you are still trying to look inside a very ridged box with straight sides of an exact length where only certain things exist inside that box.

When you look outside the box, you realize that it doesn't require a person to be of a specific religion, or color, or height, body type, etc etc to be a good person with the morals and such that you feel people are lacking. If you open your eyes to other possibilities, break down the walls of the current box, you'll be amazed at the flood of people with the ethics you're so desprately seeking.

that's really not true... there are many many GOOD and DECENT people out there but your christian colored glasses won't let you see them. You don't have to be a christian to be a good person. I am a good person, so are my friends, my family. Many people I come across and good and decent as well. Try having more of an open mindflowerforyou

only 33% of this world are "Christians"......

if we follow your logic...you should not be at all surprised that most of the world is not like you....
