Why does society seem to have lost a lot of values especially honesty,that used to be so common and when did it happen?

*sighs* but that's exactly it. "their own twist" It's not so much that people are purposely twisting your words and meanings just for the sake of arguement. It's that everyone has their own perceptions and they read it differently than you intended it. That's what makes us human and different...we all see things differently. If you give the same sentence to 100 people, you'll end up with 100 variations of the same thing, even though the words were exactly the same. Then, you have people responding not only to what you originally wrote, but also to the responses...so it twists yet again. But, while you might not have meant to make any implications...some of what you said could still be taken that way. That's why I said earlier, for everyone to just take a deep breath and give you a chance to reword what you were trying to ask, like you yourself had suggested back on page one.

OK I consider myself to be a christian and this pisses even ME off!!! I do agree with you that common decenscy, common courtesy and honesty have gone on the wayside. HOWEVER, Christians are not the only ones that have these traits. Just like it is not only the Christians that are guilty of making such hypocritical, self righteous, judgemental and idiotic statements like "it seems as if only truely dedicated christians understand these things"

I hate to say this but i've found that some of the rudest people i've ever met are the "truly dedicated christians"

Can't say it's lost but it does seem to be out of style. I always say please, thank you, and try to hold doors. As for the Christian part, one of the most decent human beings I know is a pure athiest but shows more morality then several 1 day a week Christians I know.
