Topic: Love & thanks ~ to our beloved Soldiers... - part 2 | |

Psalm 23 1}The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2} He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3} He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake. 4} Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. 5} Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6} Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. |

The Evolution of the US Flag
Evolution from 13 Stars to 50 Stars By law, a star is added to the U.S.A. Flag on the Fourth of July following the admission of the state or states bringing about these changes. No star is identified with a specific State, and there is no law designating the permanent arrangement of the stars. No flag ever becomes obsolete, each is still a legal flag and is entitled to the same respect shown the current flag. Most people believe that the Betsy Ross was the first design, but the first documented U.S.A. flag was the staggered star pattern. This flag was first flown by Captain John Paul Jones on the USS Ranger in 1777 |

The Tomb of the Unknowns
Inscribed on the western panel of the Tomb are the words: HERE RESTS IN HONORED GLORY AN AMERICAN SOLDIER KNOWN BUT TO GOD The Tomb of the Unknowns (also known as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier) is guarded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and in any weather by Tomb Guard sentinels. Sentinels, all volunteers, are considered to be the best of the elite 3rd U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard), headquartered at Fort Myer, Va. The Tomb of the Unknowns is a monument in Arlington National Cemetery, United States dedicated to the American servicemen who have died without their remains being identified. The 'Unknown Soldier' of World War I is a recipient of the Medal of Honor, the Victoria Cross, and several other foreign nations' highest service awards. The U.S. Unknown Soldiers who were interred afterwards are also recipients of the Medal of Honor, presented by the U.S. presidents who presided over their funerals. |

He who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother forever. He who sheds his blood for me shall have my prayers and respect for eternity.
Having served my country in the jungles of Vietnam, I have many brothers and even more heroes. Yes, say thanks to those who serve, freedom ain't free and it ain't easy. Thanks, Hoo-ah! |
