live if you were homeless? Do you have family support to prevent you living under a bridge or in a shelter?
If my life went very wrong very quickly, my family would most certainly be there for me, but if they did not exist, I would pitch a tent somewhere than live in a shelter I think. What are your options, what choices would you make? |

Well... If you have a car... Live in it... And shower at truck stops. I did it for nearly six months. I held a full time job on top of 36 hours of school.

I agree with you. If there were no family around, definately a tent on a nice beach or wooded are would be best.

Gosh, it gets SO HOT in Dallas in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter, so I'd have to migrate to Florida or something!! Thank God, I have some family I still TALK to!!

Sleeping under the bridge was scary...in the car wasn't so bad. But the van was much better. That garage was bigger.....but it belonged to someone. Taking those nightime showers on someones back porch was a bich. I had a short hose I hooked up late in the night. Must stay clean ya know.

Thank goodness I have a huge family, my father had 4 sibs and my mother had 7, I myself have 4 brothers so I would not be homeless.
Also my son is disabled so we would qualify for emerency housing. |

Can't stand my baby brother so that is out.
I have a girlfriend and I know she and her husband would take me in, or I could move and mooch off my kid for awhile. Heck, my turn to let her help me out, think it is called "payback" - I have helped her out for years, still do. Could see my grandbabies then too. But Dad is in a nursing home and I pay some of his bills, so I better not become homeless, could muck up the works, or really piss off baby brother if he inherited the bills and extra from dad --- now that would be PAYBACK!! |
