On the contrary, the Church of Jesus Christ is people and not institutions.

The Holy Spirit is the head of the Church of Jesus Christ and MUST be present and leading the Church or it is not the Church. The Church must also be Spirit filled souls. Period. or the witness is of men and not God.

It is that simple.

All else is a lie.

Is that plain enough?

It should be.

huh That's what they all say.... smokin

And it is those who do say this - that are the Christians. For Wouldee has captured the essence of what makes one a Christian.
It is the only criteria - filled with the spirit.

So Redy - if the leaf of the braches are spirit filled - they belong to the tree. A Christian is not defined by what they call themselves - or what they happen to personally believe based on subjective interpretation of scripture. You would file that under "Churchiolity" - not Christianity.

The testimony of the Holy Spirit is what is consistant within all of Christianity, and you would not find a "Christian" disagreeing on this point.

There are certainly a LOT of Christians on this site.

Since SO many of them DO NOT want to be considered under one label called Christians, I would like to ask.

What are the differences between Christians. Like, for example, what of the differences in beliefs.

We can hardly be expected to know, if we are NOT Christians. So please let us know and from this point on, we can refer to

THOSE CHRISTIANS WHO BELIEVE..... And that way you won't all be lumped under one label.

Thank-you for your assistance, it may make us all feel better to know these differences.

Anyone who says they are a “Christian” should (in theory) mean that they agree with the Apostle’s Creed. So in my opinion I would say it would be fair to place anyone who believes the following under the label “Christian”.

Apostle's Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell. [See Calvin]
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Where I get a little upset is when I am accused of being a right wing, bible thumping, self righteous, judgmental extremist simply because I call myself “Christian”. THOSE labels I will not wear. Yes I am a Christian that is more right than left and will quote the Bible if it is relevant to the conversion but I am to aware of my own inadequacies to judge others and be self righteous. Yes there are "Christian" who are those things. BUT not all "Christians" are.

I personally think the name calling is a cop out excuse to marginalize the goodness of God & His word toward humanity. That is the real crime of it all. The fact is that without the moral standard that God put forth for us to live by we digress as human beings.

Yet unbelievers blame God for all their woes & their own misrepresentation of God & His word. Yet they just don't want to heed His warnings of the consequences to follow for their rebellion.

I like this thread. It has a lot of insights. Where I work I have often asked myself what the difference is. For instance, one residence sees me as a man. She tells me that she doesn't want me to touch her and that she wants a woman. I told her that I don't blame her and I want a woman, too. Another resident sees me as a man and told me she didn't want to hurt my feelings but she prefers a woman. I told her no problem and that I will get her a woman to give her a shower. Another resident sees me as a man and wants me to give her a shower. Another female aide tells me that I shouldn't give that resident a shower because she sees me as a man but the nurse tells me that if that resident wants me to give her a shower that I should. Another resident sees me as a woman and can't tell the difference that I am a man. Another resident can't tell if I am a man or a woman. Another resident sees me as a CNA and it doesn't matter if I am a man or a woman. Another resident sees me as a man and he prefers a woman. He tells me that I am not built right to be a CNA. Another resident sees me as a soldier. I have found the way different people see you is up to their interpretation of who they think you are which may different than who you think you actually are.
