No........all of those avenues can be deceptive or can mis-represent the REAL person. I insist on meeting for coffee or a quick drink within the first week if I think I'm really interested in someone. If there's no real "chemistry" - why bother?

If the move itself (change of job, location, friends, etc) meets YOUR needs and that of your child/children, then it's something to look into. I wouldn't recommend moving solely in hopes of finding that elusive thing called love.
