Children and the elderly are most vulnerable and our greatest assets. Meals on wheels, is in danger due to rising food and gas prices, so people may be fed 5 instead of 7 days. Fl does pop tops do you know what they are used for?

They are cashed in and the money goes to Ronald McDonald house itself.....no part of it goes to the running of this charity. I donate about 25,000 a year pop tops......
Four years ago it was about $90.00 a gallon, but those tops have a purpose, thy are recycled to make wheelchairs.happy

Well...since my husband dies from heart disease, I would have to pick the American Heart Assoc.

And since my mother died from Cancer, I would have to pick the American Cancer Society...

And since I love children...I would have to pick, Danny Thomas's , ST. Jude's Children's Fund.

I would divide amongst those three.flowerforyou

does this mean since your husbands name fell under the "dies" category........is this your futile attempt to really cover up his up coming death that you will actually cause? huh

oh my....I know somewhere thats just wrong but I'm so sorry. It just came to mind...and.....oh forget it....<<throws down the script and walks off>>

While there are a plethora of amazing organizations that do wonderful work in support of humanity, after considerable thought, I believe I would spend the money on education for those who can't afford it ...

Education buys choices for people
...it opens job opportunities and gives new hope for families
...it opens minds and encourages looking beyond one's own boundaries
...it builds confidence and self-esteem
...it encourages growth and global thinking

I am all for addressing immediate need ... people absolutely need food, clean water and shelter. On a planet such as ours ... rich in food and resources ... it is appalling to me that anyone... anywhere ...is without these basics...

Education is about investment in people ... in their future ... in ours collectively ... so that we may all advance as people ...

One of them may cure cancer ...
One of them may end war...
One of them may start their own foundation which impacts millions...

It is the ripple in the pond ...

Donate to a charitable organization. Show me one that actually gives the money to what they say they will.

If I want to see a charitable act, I'll start handing out tens as I go up and down the street. It's more likely to fall into the hands of someone who needs it that way. Most non-profits are purely in the business of maintaining there orginazations. What would happen to the American Cancer Society if they found a cure? What would happen to the Heart foundation if they found a way of removing cholesteral from your veins? They'd fold like a greeting card.

Don't donate to charity, give direct.

I don't agree with this at all.....I think it's finding the right ones.....and that is easy when you get a summary of money spent in a given year.....and any organization will give you readily.

One million dollars is so little . We need trillions of dollars to help all those who need help on our planet : the poor ,the sick......etc . The list is long and I can not choose one particular one that easy : I need much time to think it over .
