do you find that some people seem to think because you talk slow, that you are slow?

Its even worse when they don't know what the hell Sweet Tea is, they hand you a glass of non sweetend tea and you take this big nasty gulp and almost puke everything up and then they look at you stupid when you want grits, and use slan terms like "Well, were having nice weather, and sodas Texas" lol

wellblushing i realize my picture makes me look kind of slowbigsmile cuz my good friend convinced me that everyone would know i was winking...gotta love your friends...anyway i work on a private island and i get these rich tourist who call me to say there is a turtle stranded on the beach.....and since i am part of loggerhead program... haul ass---and at least twice a year its a *%#!!# horseshoe crab, years ago when i waitressed, a woman told me i am not sure i like grits could you bring me just one and i'll see---hey i am polite, educate them if they will listen to my slow voice, but youknow 1/2 the time they think i do not know what i am talking about....worked with soft shell crabs, do you think they would believe a female with a drawl could possibly explain that its not a different crab its a blue crab outgrowing its shell..

mine comes and goes depending on the situation. most of the time it's there, but very subtly. it gets deeper depending on who i'm with or how much booze i've consumed.

No one has every thought me to be slow on account of my drawl, but several people have said that they were creeped out by it when they first met me. They said I sounded like a "yankee-shooting" redneck.

I wasn't born in the South, but I've adopted the Carolinas as my own. My heart still skips a beat when a pretty girl speaks to me with that drawl. It is simply wonderful.

Now, on a guy... I'll say that if you're not careful, a man with a southern accent can very easily sound uneducated.

Helluva catch 22!

I'm not from the South, but I have a friend (he's my brother from a another mother) that was born and raised in TN. I don't think he slow, but his slow drawl drives me crazy! I want him to hurry up and get to the point.laugh

In the end it has taught me patience.flowerforyou

Yes, I believe that sometimes happens...but if someone is patient enough to focus on the words rather than the tempo, he finds out what kind of person he/she realy is.

Personally, I find a southern drawl wonderfully sexy. Southern gentlemn are practically irresistable. love
