I am taught now the utter insufficiency of our own powers to effect a change of the heart, and persuaded that a reliance on our own talents or powers is a fatal error, springing from natural pride and opposition to God, by which multitudes of men, especially of the more intelligent and moral part of society are deluded into ruin. "Mrs. Webster was confined at the time and could not be a witness of this scene,so interesting to her as well as to us who were personally concerned, but you may easily conceive how she was affected the first time she met her husband and children at the Communion....." |

"Amiable agnostics will talk cheerfully about 'man's search for God'. To me, as I then was, they might as well have talked about the mouse's search for the cat"! C S Lewis |

"After all he's not a tame lion" Tumnus
"No But he's good" Lucy Chronicles of Narnia...The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe "I feel like I'm living in a Lion's mouth but the Lion is an Angel" Rebeccah St. James from the song "Lion" from the christian cd "Music Inspired by Chronicles of Narnia" Just a few random quotes. That if you know the story and know the Lion is representing God, its a nice representation. |

"So let it be in God's own might we gird us for the coming fight, and, strong in Him whose cause is ours, in conflict with unholy powers, we grasp the weapons He has given, the light and truth and love of heaven." John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892) |

Hi Tiffa, I remember that quote of Lucy's, first read that story when I was 7 yrs old. Did you see Prince Caspian? I love that quote its quite true. God is not tame but He is quite good. Yes I first read that story around that age as well. Read all of the series from beginning to end about two years ago? (right after the first movie came out). I remember the original versions watching them in school. And yes I watched Prince Caspian. Of course loved it, but do agree it might be a bit violent for the younger sector. Have you gotten to see Prince Caspian? |

I read all the books over the years, the first book I read after The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe was The Magician's Nephew. I read those two books a couple of times before finding the others, in a local library. I bought a set quite a few years ago, but lost track of them in moving, so bought them again, LOL. I went with a friend to see the movie this past week. I enjoyed it immensely. |
