Topic: Amid The Flames

Walk amid the flames; some say you'll get burned. Not necessarily. That’s not what I have learned. Fire warms and purifies and it can hypnotize. Before you know it you’re mesmerized, consumed within a dream. While colours dance before you and a scent so richly deep, the flames rise even higher; are you awake or is this sleep? I cup a dream inside my hands then watch where it may land as I drop what I hold dearly into the raging heat; it transforms before my very eyes, now lying at my feet. All falls to ember, the light still burning bright. I turn to what’s been given within the crimson ashes. I walked amid the flames, I know I will be back. So many dreams to capture, so many dreams untapped. It’s amazing what we find if we leave what’s known behind. When fear does not come out to play, curious Souls do walk amid the flames. When all is said and done, we’re never quite the same. JDS 05/17/08

Fire is true, to each of us in tune. It shows us where we have been, we we are now. Fire is true, has a way of bringing truth. It reflects our own souls, and brings us all home. Your poem is better, I just thought to throw my words into a rhyme.

Angel my dear, you have captured my soul again with this one. It is amazing how you can get lost watching a fire, whether it be a campfire or fireplace. Then when it turns to embers, you either rekindle it or let it die. I want my fire rekindled.
