Short While Only for a short while, Cut flowers, vased, will keep. You freshen up the water, Enjoy their fragrance, sweet. Such a brief acquaintance, You view then for a time, Placed where you will see them, Or where your glimpse will find. Sad and yet, so simple, Discarding in the place, Where they are no longer, Needed, seen or faced. While bouquets Are gathered beautiful, Contained, enjoyed as brief, Even love acquaintance, Misses, suffers grief. Raine Les 5/14/2008
