you met someone, and they couldnt work due to medical reasons, would you still date him/her??
![]() i did not see the would support in the opening post asking the question why do you feel you would have to support them very true, I retract my last statement, re support. Thats what happens when you only read from last page ![]() I truly doubt I could date someone who was unable to work regardless of the reasons why (medical/otherwise) We all have something to give (time/attention/etc) so I dont see how I would date someone that didnt see that. We all have something to give (time/attention/etc) so I dont see how I would date someone that didnt see that. what do you mean by this??? what I mean is simply that even if a person is unable to work, there is still something positive they can share with others. Be it time, their experience, positivity, a shoulder to someone, etc. If the person is mobile, then there is something he/she can do. visit the people worse off than themselves, go read to someone who has no one. etc. If you can tell a joke, make someone's day brighter. I think when you hear a person is not working, you assume they have no income. That in no way devalues them as a person, but in today's age people are stressed about money, so you think it. I thought it, when I read the post. I needed the clarification that was not part of the equation. I'm a single mom, and just got out of a romantic situation where lack of money was an insidious destroyer.
No one is worthless, nor did I get the impression anyone here thought so. |

I think it would have to depend on the medical reason .. there are some things that I don't want to deal with but that in no way reflects on how I value that person .. It is a personal choice that I make just like dating a blonde or a burnette

Sometimes they do, either SSI or SSDI. The money is better if it is SSDI, as that comes from the forty quarters of the prior work history. If they do not have that, they get SSI.
Either way, it is below 200% of the poverty level.... |

please be honest
does anyone think, that people who cant work are worthless?? |
|

its amazing to me that people belive that life worth and success has anything to do with a job, a car, the house they live in..or how much money they make....the true nature of an individual is on the inside not the out...does your job make you who you are?? can you define yourself by your disability?? Shouldnt it be about the inside and not the out??

I think it depends on a couple things.......do they do anything else, instead of just sit around? Do they have some kind of income, ss for example? and are you sufficient enough that if you have to pay for everything, it don't matter.
