Whoa... Fat?? Smoke a cig or two a day? Nah, that aint keepin you from 'getting a date'. First off, you're not fat. Furthermore, women tend to be much more vocal about smokers than men. It must be Florida boys... I used to live there. They're interesting.

Um Im a little picky too, and dont have a whole lot of time to spare. If they aren't at the rink or the PTA meeting, Im out of luck. Ill end up marrying a jam skater or a ref.

Thank you. I didn't think it would happen. He quit smoking about 11 years ago but I guess that the damage was done.

Good god if all you have in life to ***** about is someone else smoking please thank your lucky stars .. My parents house just got hit by a tornado .. There are homeless people in the streets .. So boo effin hoo about someone smoking .. why not take some of this whining and join in with Habitat for humanity .. or work for the american cancer society .. Eye rolling big time here

My dad had (supposedly) quit too but we found a pack of cigarettes in his the pocket of the jacket he wore the day before he died. It is a powerful addiction to break! I know, I quit twice!!!

i recently quite smoking, it has been 3 weeks since i have touched a cigerette. I am am strong willed so, i just stopped on my own with no help and i didnt even have the nasty mood swings..yay me..lol

while i am a smoker, and yes, i do get aggrivated because i feel that i too have rights as a smoker especially when i am being taxed outta my doopa for the ability to smoke.

but...i do respect those that do not smoke. i feel that there should be a compromise for those of us who do smoke. i could see having a non smoking restaurant and one that you can, then both parties can make a choice as to what they want to do...banning it is unfair IMO.

my step father smoked heavily for many many years. he quit the last 20 years of his life. he ended up dying of cancer anyways...

there is "cancer causing agents" in almost everythign we see,touch,eat, etc...

i am sorry for those who lost loved ones or have loved ones who have fallen ill due to smoking....but, on the other hand, everyone is different, how something effects one, may not another. look at george burns....he smoked and drank daily and lived to be 1000!

I am not rolling my eyes about anyone dying I am rolling my eyes about this being such an issue with some people .. Love is unconditional .. And educating people on smoking is better than standing around and judging people .. No change was ever made from shaming someone.. I have read all the post and am sorry that anyone lost anyone to a horrid illness but lots of folks that never smoked get cancer too .. I don't believe in blaming an ill person for thier illness .. Cancer is a lot of genetics .. yes enviromental factors matter but if all you have to gripe about is someone smoking then consider yourself blessed and get active ...

I am not blaming my father for his illness. It is a fact that smoking for almost 50 yrs. caused him to get emphysema. Then he quit smoking for 11 yrs. It has surprised us this week to learn that he now has severe COPD and chronic bronchitis after doing so well. He is going downhill. I am sad that he is going thru this. I am sad that his years here have been decreased.
I am concerned about him being so down about it all this week.

I used to smoke. Started when I was drunk one night and someone handed me a cigarette. I felt such a high that I loved it. Ended up wanting to smoke more when I drank...even had some here and there when I didn't. It got to the point where I'd smoke one cigarette after work and then 3-4 on Friday and 3-4 on Saturday.

I loved it, and I still do. If there was a completely healthy cigarette, I'd be a smoker.

However, I knew I was damaging myself...and had to stop. It took a life-threatening accident which had nothing to do with smoking show me that life is precious and I shouldn't slowly destroy mine. Haven't touched a cigarette since that day and it's been over a year no. No cravings anymore either.

I still don't agree with smoking bans like the one they passed in Illinois. I know that when I walk into places like bars or nightclubs that the smoke is part of the deal. For the waitresses and bartenders who fear their health, they should think about another line of work. I think we have a right to designate areas as "non-smoking", but we don't have a right to tell businesses that they can't have smoking period...especially when those smokers make up most of their customers.

If they can't cure lung cancer by the time I have it, I don't want to be alive on this poorly funded orb of no priorities.
