Topic: Happy thoughts, prayer request... | |
---|---|
Please keep me in your prayers/thoughts right now... for the past 3 nights in a row I've been having very strong heart palpitations and my right arm was hurting while these were happening. The palpitations stopped a few hours ago, but now my left arm is hurting. I don't think it's a panic attack like I first thought. I don't have health insurance and can't afford anything... so I'm gonna try and figure something out... just please think of me, I'd do the same for you. It's been awhile since I was this scared. Thanks.

Thanks you sweet people
I went to the ER cuz my arm was hurting a lot more after I posted this and the pain went to my chest and shoulder, too. 3 hrs of mostly sitting there wondering whether or not it actually was a heart attack. I just LOVE hospitals. Good thing I took my astronomy notes with me so I could study for my final that's tonight. I just got home. The EKG came out normal (of course) and since they can't tell if I'm HAVING a heart attack but only if I've HAD one, the doctor suggested he absolutely knew I wasn't having one. He also was the second to want to send me to a cardiologist to get a Holter monitor, which is basically a portable EKG monitor you wear for 24 hrs so it can catch the palpitations when they happen to see how serious this is. Meanwhile I'm just supposed to sit here with my arm, shoulder, and chest hurting. Sucks. What sucks worse is I still don't have peace of mind over what this pain is or what the heart skipping is all about. I guess I'll just be happy I'm still alive for now and hope there isn't any permanent damage to my heart... if it's just stress, I'd be more accepting of that. I felt REALLY bad for the old oriental guy in the next bed that kept moaning and pleading. He was having kidney stone problems. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers, just wanted to give you guys an update before I went to sleep. Have a great Tuesday. |

Kinda funny, I see these people that have never written me before showing concern, and the people I talk to all the time didn't write or say squat. Didn't email me to check on me or anything. Not that I was looking for any sympathy at all, just prayers and good thoughts. Kinda funny the way that works.
Thanks to all of you |

I just saw this now, Amber. I am sorry.
I have been busy with my daughter. I had an experience very similar..chest pain, arm pain, palpitations, sweating..went to the ER and everything was normal..then they acted like it was my fault for bothering them when I wasnt' really having a heart attack. How was I supposed to know? How are you feeling now? |

the other thing I just thought of - maybe the people you normally interact with don't have this forum on their list?

Did they do blood work to check on your cardiac enzymes??
I don't know if you use a lot of caffeine, but cutting back on that can help the palpitations stop or slow down too. Stress can be a factor too as you said. I would urge you to follow-up with the cardiologist as soon as you can. Also wouldn't hurt you to take an aspirin a day, they still have people do that to help slow down blood clotting. Please follow-through with the cardiology appointment. Your health is important. You are in my prayers, I hope things go well for you and you feel better soon. Take care. |
