At work yesterday I ran in to a dear friend, and I noticed she had a new accessory. A wedding ring! I bursted in to excitement as I began to congratulate her, but the joy was short lived.
She told me she had performed a ceremony, which an alarming number of other women have been doing as well, in which she married HERSELF! That's right! Married herself! Why? Because she hadn't found a man WHO WAS ACCEPTABLE FOR MARRAIGE! That's right: None of today's so-called "men" were able to supply this MODERN, VIVACIOUS, WONDERFUL woman with the companionship she needs, so as a slap in the face reminder to all of us, she has MARRIED HERSELF! COME ON, "MEN"! We need to STEP UP OUR GAME here! No more taking women for granted! No more disrespecting women! No more wanting women for bedroom activities! No more sexism! It is time we all grow up, and offer our undying devotion to the wonderful woman who has decided we deserve her time and company! |

I think its a good idea, in the sense that its a committment to yourself to stay true to what you want out of life. Its a committment to yourself not to settle.
