There was a 60's song that made use of this material from Ecclesiastes. It was a beautiful song, beautifully done. I thrill when I hear it and when I read it. The song was by the Byrds, Roger McGuire & Co., I think.

To every thing, turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
and a Time for Every Purpose under Heaven... etc.

and ended
a time for peace
a time for war
Oh God, I hope we're not too late.

I don't think Jesus is for war, but I know that Satan certainly is!

I didn't know that that song was taken from that verse in the Bible. I never even suspected it.

an intelligent man does NOT deliberately misinterpret the Word of God as GROSSLY and patheticvally as you do...unless he is doing it DELIBERATELY ...to COVER the REAL truth ..which is a LOSER MENTALITY he hides behind for his failures.....and now just blames God for his own bad choices....and continued irresponsible behaviour towards life .

Oh please. This is so pathetic.

The Bible has nothing more to do with God than Greek Mythology does. To claim that I’m deliberately attacking the Bible because I’m a loser and I’m blaming God for my failures is utterly absurd. That would be like claiming that people who believe that Zeus is a myth are merely angry at him for their own failures in life.

I’m not angry with God in the slightest.

Everything I’ve stated about the Bible is true by it own proclamation. It’s a picture of a God who can only forgive when blood flows. I didn’t make that up. That’s what the Bible says!!!

It’s a picture of a God who couldn’t forgive mankind because they had all sinned and fallen short of his glory. So what does he do? He sends his only begotten Son to be murdered by man so he can forgive man for his sins!

What????

Get serious. He couldn’t forgive them because they broke his laws, so he sends his son down to mingle with them and when they kills his Son he says, “Ok now I can forgive you”. Not to mention the fact that it’s a monotheistic religion to begin with, so God’s son is really just a facet of God. Like the three faces of Eve.

This story is utterly absurd. Not one iota less incredulous than Greek Mythology.

And I didn’t even bother to talk about the absurdities of this God being at war with a fallen demonic angel, which it is entirely dependent upon. The devil in this picture is every bit as important as the Godhead or Jesus. At the end of the play they all have to come out on the stage and take a bow with total egalitarian credit.

Nothing that this God wanted to do would have been possible had it not been for Satan. Satan is a star in this religion that is absolutely just as important, if not more important than Jesus himself. In fact, there wouldn’t even be any need for Jesus had it not been for Satan. Satan gave Jesus a reason for being!!!!

No MorningSong, I’m not angry with an absurd mythology. Not at all. But I am angry that so many humans actually believe in it and try to push it onto their political neighbors causing civil unrest on a global scale.

And the real irony is that it all stems from the SAME folklore! Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, are actually the SAME fundamental religion that fell into three parts and now they are going to destroy the whole rest of the world just because they feel a desperate need to go to war with one another.

Pantheists like myself (as well as atheists) and many other spiritualities have to put up with you people starting a potentially planet-destroying war all because of the stupid myths that you people won’t drop.

And then you tell me that I’m angry with God because I’m a loser?

I think God is going to be angry with religious people because they're going to be the losers if they don't stop trying to push their beliefs onto each other. ohwell

Shalom Abra

You know I have found through experience that those who really have studied and Know the scriptures very well that alot of times they come to a point they stop believing. It is not the weak who turn it is the oppisite. I have grown to appeciate your views in your outlook of a Perfect Creator. The thing is thier is so much deep physilogical reasoning in the scriptures. You need to dig deeper to see that it is virtually impossible for these sayings to be ingraved in each other without a creator or someone way beyond our thinking. You are a scientist. I have no doubt the deeper you dig into something new the more amazing it becomes. Blessings of Shalom Abra..Milesdrinker

Proselytizing is proselytizing.

I admire the profundancy of that. I find it hard to argue with profundancy. It reminded of when I got my son a Christmas present and he played with the box. I guess the box is just as important as the gift when it comes to religion. He thought the box was special and I thought the gift was special. I guess it sometimes just a matter of personal choice when it comes to religion. Atleast that is what we are taught in nursing.
