I think a lot of people use Jesus to incite war without even realizing the folly of their ways.
You can’t intimidate people into loving Jesus by threatening eternal damnation if they don’t comply. Any love that is won on those terms is insincere and meaningless anyway. And that’s precisely what they are claiming Jesus is like. Either love me, or off with you head!!! It’s an extremely archaic medieval tactic that was actually used by mortal Kings of old. Hardly the mannerisms that would be used by a truly divine deity. |
