since i got sober in october.. some great things have happened this want i would like to share with my jsh family..it took along time but after years of not talking to my dad ..i get a phone call from him .. he wants to see me .. and believe me freinds in the past he wanted nothing to do with me .. so am off tohave dinner with him.. after 9 years of hardships getting sober has its rewards...

That is awesome. Baby steps. I went ten years without talking to my father and one day I said, okay. This is the only dad I'm going to have and now we happily have a relationship, odd though it is... it is better than nothing.

I hope you have a great time. He will look OLD... don't be shocked.

when I sobered up I was able to reconciliate with my former husband and my son...good things can happen...

Wow Congrats Steve you have worked long and hard for this. You know sometimes Parents have to push there kids away at times when they see them going down hill. Sure it was one of the hardest things he did was not talk to you. And very hard to admit it after all this time. But sometimes when we feel we are no longer getting through to our kids it is the last resort but we have to pull away from them. Hoping that someday they will finally see for themselves what they were doing to themselves.

Steve you have come along way don't ever let anyone or anything pull you down again. I'm proud of you, I have read about your battle and you have done a great job!!
