It is truly sad how very closed minded you are, I would hate to hear your precious opinion on any other important issues.

It is imperative that u understand she needed help and she reached out and received it. It has very little bearing on her eating habits or the quality of her character. As someone stated earlier there are many addictions and food happens to be right up there with gambling, drugs etc.

Being overweight does not make a person less than or weak individuals and she could be a very active individual and exercise daily and still have extra pounds, your synopsis of overweight people is ridiculous and offensive.....

Did something happen to you in your childhood and adolescence, maybe even your adult life cause ya seem quite bitter.

Have a drinker and a smokin and a flowerforyou and chill.

Statistics, almost every fitness trainer, government health agency and credible medical doctor back up my synopsis.....what is backing up yours? The Plastic Surgeon Guild of America? The newest pharmaceutical company pushing its miracle pills and proclaiming "its not your fault your fat, its your hormones"? The National Association for the Advancement of Fast Food? Pepsi Cola?

I have to say though, you opened up this conversation asking for complete honesty, which yes there is going to be some sort of negative feed back because there always is.

Dude could have been more tactful that's for sure, but throwing up a female view point, I also suffered from being tremendously overweight, and know how hard I have worked exercising and eating right to get that weight off, I would have a lack of respect in the role reversal if it was a man who went the surgery option. 1st of all I have seen my own sister get the surgery, the complications that arose, and no matter how much weight she lost she still saw herself as fat (surgery does not correct the mentality of the issues that caused the weight gain to begin with). Then after 2 years, stretching the stomach back out and putting weight back on because even with the surgery if you don't ever learn to eat right and exercise it really doesn't do much good in the long run.

Hon I'm not judging, it always boils down to personal choice, and if this is what makes you happy and feel better than Congratulationsflowerforyou

Are you getting off with this? Seriously, for you to sit here and post this pointless crap after everything I say, I think you must be getting some crude excitement out of it.

Obviously, it is empirical evidence in support of my last statement directed to you though.

OH I know I did, and I am really not offended by him in the least lol. Actually I find him very amusing in a sick sort of way lol. And I know all about the mental part of it. You have to change your life, the surgery is just a tool to get you started. Thanks again sweetie!

Im glad your opinion, or anyone on this site for that matter, is representitive of the general female populous.

Besides, if you were an accurate representation, Id rather die single then be with anyone who takes issue with the truth in favor of politically correct no fault coddling.

You know over weight people have many health issues. Some physical and some mental. Most over weight people do not CHOOSE to be that way. But I would not expect all to understand this. And I was asking for HONEST opinions here which you did give and I thank you for it.

*note to self, DO NOT date this guy!laugh laugh laugh

Yeah, actually, almost all overweight people do choose to be that way. I was overweight at one point, and you know what, I got that way by eating garbage and not excercising. It was not my Mom, my depression, my thyroid, blah blah blah. Want to know how I fixed that, I stopped blaming everyone and everything else, and my "genetics" for being heavy, and I changed my diet, started running and working out....and I lost the weight.

My ex mother in law is morbidly obese, and she has a million health problems, so many that she was able to get on disability for it. She claims she "cant" lose weight, and doesnt know what the problem is. Yet, she eats out 3 or more times a week, sits around the house every day, and fries 90% of the things she eats.....how exactly is it NOT her fault that shes huge?

I can't believe that you are serious.

I have gained weight due to steriods. Now, at my age I will gain weight with NO fast food.

My mother has thyroid problems and broke her ankle and now walks painfully with a cane and she has gained weight. She can hardly walk from the ankle not healing correctly and therefore cannot exercise. Did she choose to gain weight? I think not.

People may become thinner or heavier due to depression. Anti-depressants may cause them to gain weight.

People get arthritis and cannot exercise. Not everyone can run and exercise like you did.

In the previous post you said something about people gaining weight due to computers, etc. Studies are showing that it is the children that are gaining weight due to video games and computers and lack of exercise. The schools have cut back on gym time too.

People gain weight when they quit smoking. There are so many variables of reasons that a person gains weight and none of them includes choosing to gain.

Your blanket accusations are invalid to me. You are not a member of the medical community.

No matter the age, old or young, when you have surgeries, your
body is going to change. If a mate can't except you that way, they are not worth the time. Its whats in the heart that should count!

Let me ask ya something. I have had gastric by pass surgery. Do you feel that is a turn off? Please give your honest opinion.

Thanks, and don't ya dare ask how much I weigh (yet) =)

Congrats. Hope it works out well for you. No, it is not a turn off. May I please give you some words of encouragement.

In 1974, I had an intestional bypass surgery. They do not do this surgery anymore as they consider it too risky now.

I weighed close to 500 lbs. I wore size 60 waist pants and size 23 which is 5 xxl shirts. I now wear size 38 jeans and I like to wear 2xl sized shirts for obvious reasons. I think you would understand why.

A couple of things for you to keep your eyes on. Your vitamin b6 and b12 levels. You may need a script from your doctor. Also your vitamin d and calcium levels. These can be supplemented otc. Watch your tolerance to dairy products.

If you would like any other info please e-mail me.

Good luck with the new you also.
