Head ringing Heart beating With echoes of words Thought heard In the quiet hours Of morning As I lay safely Contented Held tightly In warm arms Offering Loving comfort So unfamiliar Yet so very welcome… Confused Bemused And so unsure Of the sincerity Or words said With sweet Clarity Not knowing what to say How to feel Were they said? Were they real? Heart flutters As I wonder if It could truly Be so Were those Quiet words Spoken Or merely Echoes Of unrealized Hopes And dreams Sadly given up And laid to rest So very Long ago…?
