the food??? example........alot of the food was mexican, in the grocery stores, which I didnt mind but it geared towards that part. Here I can can eat asian/indian/whatever I want but in cali??? ethnic meant mexican...... Canada is very diverse......everything you want. The grocery stores are huge mecca style places where you can buy everything and clothes and shoes and your medicines...... Here...Asian (ALL KINDS..Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Sushi, Mongolian BBQ etc, etc), Indian, Peruvian, Austrian, the list goes on. Oh yea and there are a few Mexican places around. I saw the same in Canada too. Never been to the east side of the bay though. Another reason for a relatively passive blond haired guy to avoid Oakland! |

Can get anything in the grocery stores here too.
What I liked about going out while up north was that it seemed (TO ME) that Canadians have a very resolute and quirky way of going out on the town. Went to see an art show...and it was "The History of Broken Glass". Went out drinking on "ugly tie night" (to be worn with jeans and a tee shirt). After hitting the bars, went to go "ice-blocking" and there were already people on the hill when we got there. I had such a blast! Everything done seemed to be done with a "twist". |
